Rider's Most Embarrassing Moments

Dropping my bike close to the condo building's parking garage door. Was in a rush to retrieve the fob from my jeans pocket, sidestand didn't fully go down. Front left blinker lens exploded all over the ground so it looked a bit dramatic.

About a dozen cars drove by, with most drivers looking mildly amused.

Also, being the first guy to crash a bike during the M1 Exit course. Another guy kept dropping his CBR125 but I did a proper high-side during the emergency braking exercise. T'was wet. Bruised rib, bleeding knee and one destroyed boot. I passed.

Too funny...IS IT JUST ME OR DOES ANYONE ELSE NOTICE IT IS AWAYS THE SAME KEYBOARD TOUGH GUYS...
There is 2 more left to chime in...get it over with boys...you never have anything of value to add. How sad it must be...sitting alone in your boxers in the basement, waiting to chime in with your wit and creative pics and emoticons.
GOOD TIMES!!!
To the rest of GTAM...that actually have a life...CHEERS!

This just goes to show most posts could be read multiple ways. I bet Joe does not wear boxers.

Heh, years ago, our RTI instructor dumped his VFR at a side-street stop sign. The whole class was out for a practice ride and we were right behind him. No traffic otherwise, 40km/h limit. D'oh!

Did the old kickstand-not-deployed dump in my driveway with the zx6e years ago. The E is a block, so only a few scratches really. Good thing nobody noticed, ESPECIALLY another rider! Suddenly, this car slows to a stop in the median, some fellow jumps out runs over, "Hey, I ride too, need a hand?". I did and accepted, mildly embarrassed. Then two BMW f800GSes zip down the road, pull a U-turn and enter the driveway, offering a hand too. Damn, an audience too. The street had been virtually empty for at least 10 minutes before this.

This one has been happening to me a lot lately and if I shift too lazily I'll hit a false neutral up in the higher gears as well. Was riding home one day with a couple of guys I met on the road and did it 3 times in that one ride. That was embarrassing.
Did this a ton of times when I got my riding boots. Took a while to get the feel for them.

My most embarrassing moment to date was meeting Joe Bass at Belfountain.

Last year I decided I would wash the cars and bike after a couple drinks. Halfway through the wash on the bike I had the brilliant idea to put it on the center stand to get the rear wheel...needless to say that a half washed bike, wet hands, and a couple beers do not mix well. The bike slipped away from me and the front MC reservoir (nice old school full metal piece) put a nice dent into the rocker on the passenger side. Could not believe my luck (or lack there of), one more inch away and the car would have been fine...and of course, aside from a bit of paint, the bike was fine.

I felt like an absolute tool and have not told anyone aside from the wife about that one. Also done the u-turn drop on a slope but I think almost everyone learns that lesson at one time or another.

LMFAO...I go through that EVERY DAY at some point with my wife...that's good *****.
PS I'm the dude on the couch...lol

All the same thing.... It just pretty much changed names with different generations

So here's mine....Have not dropped the bike yet... and yes i know its coming lol...
But I had just picked up my brand new '14 R6 from Brampton powersports...it actually said 0km on the odo... Its a nice hot sunny day and I'm excited so I drive it up to my best friends house in Aurora to show it off, So now we are talking it has 30-40 km on it now. I park it in his driveway with my first successful jaunt and parking job complete we go into the garage and chat etc... After awhile he goes out to really look at it and asks to sit on it. He gets on it and is like "Wow your bike really leans far to the side when its on the kickstand" So I go over and take a look as I didn't think it leaned too far over when I parked it. My kickstand had gone though the asphalt of his driveway and was slowly sinking through the dirt underneath. When we went to go stand the bike up straight the asphalt sucked/heaved up with the withdrawing of the kickstand then settled back down. I had offered to go get some patch material but he said no.... His reasoning was it makes a great story. Sure enough every time we are working on cars in the garage or driveway he always finds some way to poke fun of me about it or regales someone new with the story and proceeds to show them the hole that I put in his driveway lol..... Gotta love best friends :p

Kickstand pucks we're invented for a reason... Or just do what I do and use an empty soda can crushed.

Helps disperse the weight over a larger surface area so there's less chance of a puncture in the asphalt when it heats up on a hot summer day.

Yep... that was the lesson learned that day ;)

Even turning the bars to the right may be just enough weight reduction to give you a little extra time before sinking. Bike sitting more upright puts the weight more through the tires than the stand. ;)

in a galaxy far far away and a time almost forgotten. I had a month old honda 450, still in school, just finished playing football. a few of my buddies and a couple of girls were sitting on the hill above the football field. 2 of the girls were wanting a ride on the bike. I pulled out from the parking lot riding up the side of the hill my engine guard struck and stuck into the side of the hill. the bike stopped dead, i did not. went flipping over the handle bars and bounced to a smooth landing on my arse to roars of laughter. the honda was still standing on the side of the hill held up by the engine guard. after my acrobatic bit of riding I was unsuccessful in convincing the girls to go for a ride then or into the future. I was so depressed over it I began to eat ice cream by the barrel. now I look like the ice cream barrel

^^^ that must have been a sight! Good thing there wasn't any instagram or cell cams back then.
Ice cream makes everything better my brotha from anotha motha.
