Riders choice oil change gone wrong.

why dont you do your own oil change?

Who cares.

Thanks for posting this OP doesn't sound like I will be going to RC anytime soon after all these reviews..

I am not taking sides on this..... We all know its plastic and plastic CRACKS EASY.. I have seen CRACKS on newer bikes just from a GOOD BUMP on the road..... I would like to see the other small crack you have on the bike before I start pointing fingers......

Here is the best I can get the picture to show the crack. Was hard to take a picture underneath the bike with a phone camera. Will try to get a better shot next time.

It is located near the front

Riders Choice has a decent rep, but that's the work of a total clutz, no doubt about it.

Considering how Johnny rides the hell out of every bike he owns, waaaaay far beyond normal conditions, he doesn't seem to have many cracks in his fairings.
No way that damage happened on a bump.

It's not easy to find someone who will own up to a mistake. It's especially hard to swallow when it's an "expert" whom you're paying.

I think if you do a search you will see that said mechanic has had issues before, not the first time

After seeing the pic and my own personal experiences at Riders I have 0 doubt that it was done by the tech that worked on it. $108 for an oil change!!!??? Wow that takes some stones boy.

You just saved me a trip to riders choice!.. that sucks man, sorry about your luck.. I guess a few pictures before taking your bike to get fixed next time might be a good idea.. Sad that we actually need to do things like this..

You should throw a wrench on that filter, then snap a picture to see how it lines up..

looks like dude forgot to undo the bottom fastener and tried to get the fairing off. I dunno how else the bottom crack could have happened. RC are really digging themselves a deep one.

I normally take these reviews with a grain of salt and they usually reek of the poster being irrational. I have to agree with you all on this as the damage appears that it is very possible to have occurred just as the OP suggested.

If the mechanic did indeed cause the damage then he is really a shallow human being. My personal experience at RC has been dismal and I never bother wasting my time going there.

I also usually keep my cool and take the high road when dealing with problems but I do wonder if kicking it up a notch would have offered a different result. My experience (very few) with John is that he doesn't really give a ****.

106 for an oil change and he doesnt have to remove fairings/ You got ripped. Let me know next time, you can use my lift and garage

Unfortunately the "shop/industry standard" is 45mns-1hr of labour for an oil change. If it's finished before....... make the customer wait.

The only thing I need a shop for is a tire swap and I'll usually bring my rims in for that.

Yep they totally f! up a simple valve job for me too. $800 later... anyways, I haven't been back since then.

Thanks to all for the support... At least reading your positive comments relieves some stress. Ride safe.

agree with the reviews, every time i go in john mcbride is incredibly rude so i stopped going a few years ago. i take my business to gp bikes now.
