Ride Like a Police Officer

Looks like a super awesome course.
It's a bit expensive considering that on top of the course you have to add the flight, etc.
Anyway, I I hope I can take this course (or one like that) at some point.

so $750 for the course plus flight and stay it must be like $2000 total? hmmm... with that cash i'd hire the peeps from stunters inc to coach me stunt lol, ride like a cop or a stunter it all comes down to throttle/clutch/brake control and body position right?

Why fly? It's really close to Detroit, not exactly a long ride or drive. Roughly 4 hours according to Google maps.

Thanks for the link, I might just give this a try next season.

I doubt it is going to cost that much...drive to Troy, Michigan is 3 hrs take you car or motorcycle. Hotel is $59 per day. $30-$50 per day for meals etc...noway you are going to touch $2000. We all know about Friction zone and all the things, but how many really practice that. Even if you practice by your self, you don't get to push yourself so much. In a group you always learn more and quicker. Again, it is a personal choice, I just wanted to share this and I am really excited to take the course.

Please let me know how the course goes.

At the border don't tell them you are going to a course, you are going to a seminar. Courses require a student visa, seminars not so much. Just a suggestion. I was an international student in Michigan for awhile. I've also been there for training (err seminars) for work since.

Thanks for a very valuable tip. I don't want to go all the way just to be returned back.

Might also want to confirm if they're ok with an Ontario M/M2.it's mentioned somewhere that they check endorsements.
I think it should be fine, but better to be doubly sure I guess.

That was the first thing I checked. They get lots of riders from Canada, thats why there training in Troy is always booked.

Cool. Have a great trip. Always a good thing to get your skills to that level. Some of the things those guys do are simply amazing. I was thinking of taking a course myself in the UK. The don't have anything similar in North America yet. Not sure if I can do it this year, but if not then hopefully next year.

Have a blast!!!

If you get a border guard that doesnt know what 'seminar' means (and you would be surprised how many there are), use 'conference'. And no, you are not presenting and you are not bringing any materials with you, just going to 'hopefully learn something'

don't use seminar, or conference, just say you are going to an motorcycle police safety presentation ... you don't have to say your actively participating LOL

Make it easy on yourself, as long as you are not doing anything that would be of concern to the U.S. (like being wanted by the police, immigrating; or working, teaching or presenting for pay) do as I do. Anytime I cross the border, I say I'm going on vacation and riding (whatever state) for 3 or 4 days, and that is certainly part of it, or all of the story.

If you get complicated with describing in more than a couple of words what you are doing, you risk getting questioned to death, risk confusing the border guard and who may decide to turn you back, just to be safe.

Sounds like a great course. I would be curious to hear how it goes, too.
