Stupid liberal, Christine Elliot demanded a recount of the votes.
 
So what's his platform?

We all know the history of the Ford family and the cluster**** that was his brother's mayorship but what does he bring to the table now? If Ford can convince left-leaners and progressives to bring the pCs to victory -- a big "if" given that polls suggest Ontarians seem to prefer Elliot and Mulroney to him by a pretty big margin -- what can we expect from a Ford administration? Is he going to declare war on the public sector and teachers like Hudak?

Did the pCs blow it again by electing a character not much liked outside of conservative circles?
 
Today I had to remind my GF that he's not his brother, and that Rob is deceased. I don't want Mulroney because she has zero political experience, and the we're already suffering somebody that rode into office on their daddy's name. I also don't know anything about the other runner, but the Ford name is tainted and it will hurt Doug in the provincial race.

I think from a policy perspective, Ford was the best man. Christine Eliot would have delivered more of the same liberal-style establishment policy which is exactly what Ontarians are sick of. My concern is that the party porkers will revolt on him because they all want to ride the gravy train. Ford is going to cut deep into spending, just like his brother. We can look forward to more privatization and less big government. Socialists will definitely be outraged.
 
Nah man, liberals love privatization. They've even created a completely new brand for the weed side of LCBO that looks more like a trendy millennial boutique brand rather than a government arm, this way once the monopoly is solidified, it can be sold easily.
 
Good for him.
All he has to do is point out the mess that is Hydro/electricity in Ontario to get people on board.
Just like Rob kept hammering away at the "gravy train".
I'm sure he could back that up with all the miss managed programs which are also costing us.
But hey one thing at a time.

One Billion Dollar Train To Nowhere, paid for by the taxpayers of Ontario, to benefit(debateable) a fraction of Hamilton.

That should be all that needs to be said.

Hamilton Light Rail Transit project. It's 'projected' to cost one billion, and everyone knows what happens with projected budgets.

Think OC Transpo, clogging the bus transitways with LRT trains that can't pass each other, and maybe you'll get the picture.

That's a really old article -- Ford closed that gap within few days.

I guess we will see what happens. There's a lot of power in populism, it transcends a lot of voters political affiliations.
