Recommendations on a naked bike

I'm so jealous... :

Where are this kind of deals in CANADA!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I guess it depends on your budget..

If you are concerned about overall cost and insurance, I think a used Kawasaki Z750 or Z1000 is a good way to go. Super cheap insurance for otherwise powerful machines.

If you aren't concerned that much about cost/insurance then Duc Streetfighter, Speed or Street Triple, KTM Superduke, Honda CB1000R (hot, seriously hot bike), or a new Z1000 are super nice options.. You could also go with a Ducati Hypermotard or an Aprilia Dorsodoro as well.

Hey will you guys stop recommending the Street Triple? I'm trying to get a good price for this bike and I don't need the added competition! :p

BTW, I don't want to say it, but... the Street Triple will be about 10 to 15% more on insurance than my GS500F. The bike is not black listed.

$800/yr for my Street Triple, not exactly an insurance nightmare but would have been $3200 for a Speed Triple! The guy asked my 3 times "are you sure it's Street?" when I got a quote because of the difference LOL.

Anyways, liter bikes are overkill IMHO.

Aprilia Shiver gets good reviews. F800R will probably get some of the best fuel economy out of what's been mentioned. F800S is partially faired and has belt drive along with ABS. SV650 would also be my recommendation. The Street Triple R would probably be considered the "best" according to the reviews I've read though but it's pretty expensive and fuel economy matters more to me.

How about the Kawasaki Versys? I hear it's one of the best all around bikes, but the seat height could be an issue for me.
Might as well consider the 650R and ER6N as well then although the 650R isn't naked. The 650R and ER6N are identical other than the plastics. Some insurance companies classify the ER6N as a standard which lowers the rate but they are harder to find as not many were sold and it is no longer for sale new unless you find an old stock one from last year or the year before. The Versys has better suspension but the 650R/ER6N are lower. They have the same engine but the Versys is tuned differently.

Seems there are no ER6N around, no figure.

I'm seriously considering a Kawasaki 650R though, because you can get the cheap used and even new they are reasonable. I guess you could remove some of the front plastics and make it more naked.

Really, the most fun bike I've owned.

imho, the 650r is not... peppy? it just doesn't have the rev happiness of other bikes i've tried. and the ergo is awful (for me anyway) - but ymmv.
