Watched Mad Max : Fury Road last night. It was pretty awesome!
I hope I don't get disappointed. I grew up on the first one when it came out in 1984. I remember how badass it was. I hope it doesn't crush those dreams

Mad Max was off the flippin chart! Holy Moleeeee
An absolute MUST have on DVD

Rotten Tomatos: 99%

Ebert: 4 out of 4

Metacritic: 90%

New York Times: 2 out of 2

My expectations were pretty high and didn't disappoint. Originals are classics. The CGI in this film make the CGI in all Marvel and DC films look like doodling with crayons by children.

"What a day, WHAT A LOVELY DAY!"

Ex Machina. Decent scifi/thriller into the whole AI thing. Some creepy bits but becomes predictable halfway through. The visuals and acting was very good.

It's a rental kinda movie, don't need the theatre experience to enjoy it.

Yep, saw this last night myself.

Pretty good movie actually .

Not many movies really scare me but It Follows definitely made me jump in my seat. A Japanese style low budget horror flick with a great retro soundtrack in the style of John Carpenter.

The first one was 79 (mad max) the second was 81 (road warrior) the third one in 85 (thunderdome)was the weakest of the bunch, paycheque time, but Tina was cool.

I'm trying to convince a buddy to go see it with me. Otherwise it will be a download I guess.

My memory fails me. I remember how dramatic it was & couldn't stop dreaming about that post apocalyptic environment. No TV ratings at the time

Watched Fury Road today. The good: absolutely stunning visuals, mind-blowing action sequences and stuntwork. The not-so-good: Tom Hardy just didn't work for me as Max, Mel will always be the one and only true Road Warrior. Too much action, yes, there can be such a thing. The whole movie was one long car chase, should've taken some time out for a more filled out story. Central theme of movie, women are good, men are bad and gain power only to oppress women.

Agreed

Max was almost secondary in the movie.

The whole psychological thing was just left field. Wasnt expanded on, and as such felt awkward. Once again, it felt like a lot of the movie was left on the cutting floor.

Disagree completely.saw it first on laptop then went to see it in the theatre. Visually brilliant film, the audio track in theatre when it comes full force cannot be replicated at home. If you like sci fi, stellar first effort from writer/director

It should read: To oppress everyone.

Movie was worth the movie theater experience. Based on the reviews no one should have expected a story in this movie. It's a wonderful 2 hour car chase, interrupted by 15 minutes worth of dialogue. Between the great use of visuals, explosions and soundtrack, it was well done.

Completely agree!

Watched Ex Machina last night. Fairly predictable but enjoyable. Tried not to get a boner watching a robot.

You'll never look at a roomba the same again.

a few movies:

Stoker - pretty messed up but i really liked it. written by Captain Cold from The Flash tv show and directed by a Korean. i recommend it, and it's on Netflix.

Wedding Ringer - typical Kevin Hart movie. enjoyable, during the bbq yesterday.

John Wick - surprisingly good action movie. Keanu is a boss! i saw the trailer for it and i thought it was gonna be a dumb movie just because he kills a bunch of people cause someone killed his dog. turns out, it's much deeper than that.
