Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Omg hobbit was boring. Started to pick up after the first 2 hours. The beginning IMO was torture.

Lord of the Rings was boring, all 3 of them. I can only imagine (since I'm never going to watch it) how boring The Hobbit is.

Django Unchained....loved it and everyone I know who saw it also really liked it.

Resident Evil: Retribution

I'm a big fan of the action movie, always have been, but even watching Mistress Milla wire-fight her way through 90 minutes in her best bondage gear and platforms starts to wear on you when there's absolutely no story.

The purpose of that movie was to milk the audiences without adding to the story. I was a fan of the franchise but I don't know if I'll bother with the sequel. All they did was make up a flimsy premise in order to parade a few of the old crowd favourites that bought it in previous installments.

Watched Clubbed and the Thompsons last night. Clubbed was a good watch. The Thompsons is an interesting twist of a vampire story. The main character even makes an amusing dig at Twilight in the first few minutes.

That's why I felt the need to comment the way that I did both about Resident Evil, and The Hobbit. I've been a fan of both going way back (that's almost 40 years for Tolkien's books) so if someone like me says "Meh" to them, that hopefully means something to people who would otherwise go to see them.

Just watched " this is 40" .. dont waste your 2 hours on this movie.

"Jack reacher" was an alright flick.

"Looper" was a good movie. Gets away from the usual bs type movies to something more original.

Got the Bourne Legacy dvd....was not expecting it to be as good as it was. Watched it twice already...thought it was very cool.

Watched Expendables 2 last night...think the first one was better...too much dumb comments and I'm back crap. Jason Stratham was the best of the lot of them.

Can hardly wait to see Django unchained...like here all comments have been great about this movie. Which is good as I'm a huge western movie fan.

Is it off the chain?? My newspaper review was pretty negative but reading between the lines I could tell it was pretty good. Caught Quentin Tarantino talking about it on Charlie Rose. He seemed to like it. I think his weird facial contortions are unrelated that tho.

Just finished watching " Salmon fishing in the Yemen " very good movie.

Ewen McGregor stars in it.

I dunno man, that's a pretty forgettable movie. I'm pretty sure I saw it. I liked Ewen McGregor better in the BMW ads.

Just finished watching "Moon", starring Sam Rockwell. If you like more cerebral SF, without lots of 'splosions 'n stuff, then you might like it. There were a couple of times when the irony hit like a sledge hammer though.

I thought it was excellent.

You quoted me revrandy so I'll respond but what I have to say doesn't really belong in a movie thread. I really struggle to enjoy movies anymore. Jaded. So done with the fantasy world. I go to be a good sport. I know what butters my bread.

Watched Contraband with Mark Wahlberg ....thought was a 6.5 - 7 out of 10. Reasonably cool...will watch it again.
