Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

I only recently saw the first Mission impossible movie. Never seen any of them before, confirmed I wasn't missing out on much

The last two were actually very good.

Just don't expect much of a plot.

Some of the action is awesome.

If you can find the original series on DVD, it's worth watching. It wasn't generic action movie stuff. The original TV show was more of a psychodrama; tension, not action.

TIL it was a TV series back in the day

It starred people like Martin Landau and Barbara Bain, Peter Graves, Leonard Nimoy, Lesley Anne Warren...... Lots of people you might know from other famous TV shows from the 1960s/1970s. It was one of my favourite shows, when I could get to the TV when my parents were out.

I'd say a bit scary ... not that I didn't know how the financial world came down in 2008 ... but the details of it were really intriguing. The role of "Mark" (constantly on the phone) was really enlightening to see that it still might exist ... although I have to wonder whether that really is true.

The principles the world economies are built on nowadays, is an absolute joke, US being the biggest one.

Saw Zootopia over the weekend. It's a well done movie, once again Disney nails the balance between humour and telling a story. Great characters, interesting world they've created.

What blew me away was how mortgage swaps and CDO were actually created........and when everything came crashing down, they got bailed out and found a way to work around in present day.

Not to mention just how crazy the whole ratings and regulatory agencies have no idea of what the hell is going on. And the banks themselves appear oblivious.

I think if we had Margot Robbie regularly explaining financial matters to the world, while in a bubble bath, this never happens again.

The few screens at the very end of the movie were like a bitter ending, just to get you really upset. Have you noticed what they have said?

Watched Batman v Superman. Disappointing. Visually awesome but the story was terrible.

I watched Big Short in a theater in the US with my American neighbors, discussing after drinks it was astounding how they had lived through it and were oblivious to what was going on. Like the other 312 million Americans.

So it seems that I need to watch the Big Short...
Finally got around to watching the first Hunger Games (I watched mocking jay 1 first, with my kid). I enjoyed it. Did not realize how many big names were actually in it. My son says it's doesn't stay completely true to the book. Tonight, the second movie.
