Public Mobile, are these rates good?? (Telus owned)

I might be wrong, but it appears if you choose 3 items-- province wide talk, unlimited text, and 1G data, they give you a $15 discount. So in effect it would be $35.

I hear mixed things with Wind, and not sure want to risk going with them, but I do trust Public Mobile, since they appear to be owned by Telus and using their network.

to me, thats a deal, my wife pays double that amount and gets slightly more data that she never uses. Just waiting for her damn contract to expire.....

how much data does your Fido plan give you?
No, I accounted for that $15 discount. It would have been $65.

Fido gives me 400MB, which is less than Public's 1GB but since I never use up what I have it makes no difference.

Same **** different toilet. I really like wind, but I need to switch to Rogers soon. Will be travelling across Ontario and Canada soon so time to get hosed. I will e-mail the industry minister.

It seemed like wind stopped building towers.

Got it from WIND.

I agree, I bite my tongue because it's cheap. But i will not be staying with them after the 2 yeast period.

Get 2 cell phones, one with Robbers other with Wind, might be cheaper

Two phones can't have one number...
call fwd one to the other when needed
or setup a hop system using a number from freephoneline.ca
it has follow me calling or sequential ringing

plus ppl will always have 1 number to reach you even if you change plans
they also do not get your cell# as you will be providing them your "reach me" or call service #

Why is it you need to go to Rogers?

I can understand needing to leave Wind, as you would constantly be roaming, however I've found in the more rural areas I get much better coverage with Bell and Telus than I did with Rogers.

I'm on Koodo (so on the Telus network) and am very happy with both the coverage and price... however I am a very light cellular user so Koodo may not be for you heavy usage guys.

A lot of my friends were saying Rogers is better when they travel across canada etc.. I don't really care who I end up. Been with all three before Bell, Telus and Rogers. I hate Bell with a passion and would not give them any business even they were 50% of the cost. If only everyone working in Bell was fired and replaced then I would consider them again. Right now there are enough monkeys in the North America that you have better replacements for the current Bell employees and management.

I just googled it and I understand.... thank you. Just spent a crap ton of money on BB passport. Not planning on getting another phone.

Wind can work just fine in the GTA.
You just need the right phone and the right setup.

Go get a Samsung S4. Their is another phone that works great but I am not telling you.
The Notes also work well.

You flash the phone with a Custom ROM which is usually WAY better than the stock crap. Then you flash the modem file and you are set.
My friend has a WIND phone I setup for them, works just like Rogers.

Why the heck would I bother doing all of that on my wife's phone. I shouldn't have to McGyver a solution for basic fundamentals like being able to place a call. Fuq Wind.

Part of the problem is that we let the monopoly of these corporations go on so long. They price fix to a certain extent and don't compete. We have to support these newcomers to the market otherwise they will die out and change won't come.

spend an hour learning something and benefit for years (saving lots of money too)
but hey, to each their own

If you learned what I was talking about, your phone will work better and have for features they hide from you.

Look into a SIP client for your phone and just have phone numbers from VOIP lines. (i.e. freephoneline, etc). Just need a data/wifi/3G connection, otherwise, listen to the voicemail later (or the emailed voicemail alerts).
