Pretty sure my bike is totalled

sorry to hear about your crash, I'm glad you are in good enough condition to start stripping it down lol.

As mentioned by @mimico_polak keep an eye on yourself, after my accident last year I felt "fine". I told my boss I needed a few days, ended up being 5 months. I hope your friend is doing well and makes a speedy recovery.

Looking forward to the new bike thread...

Not to seem insensitive, but will insurance go after your friend, because technically, he rear-ended you?

My buddy hit a deer and the OPP charged him with a highway traffic offense. I think it was careless driving or something like that.

They laid the charges on him while he was lying in the hospital bed...
That happened to a friend of mine too. The police measured his skid mark and estimated his speed to be in the careless zone, they too visited him in the hospital.

Thats insane, so easy to throw away in court... Could have just started braking earlier and had slippery tires, no way to prove he was being careless, and also, going 50kp/h or 150kp/h, if the deer/animal times things right, no way should the rider be at fault. I assume with a car, they wouldn't even investigate a careless charge or not in such a case.

I read somewhere here I think, that a rider low-sided on a gravel spot at night, in hospital the cops came and wrote him up, however one officer hinted at the fact that they wouldn't show up in court, and it's just a thing they had to do.

Gutted for you.

I really like the T7 but if there is one design item I would change it’s that exhaust and exhaust hanger. It would also have been good if they had put a bolt on subframe on the bike.

My friend tweaked his OEM pipe and hanger bracket in a big get off off-road. i cut it off and welded on two lugs to the sub frame and he went with a 12“ stainless straight core from Cone Engineering tucked nicely in out of the way On a custom hanger. It’s a lot louder though. It may be an option if you want to keep it.

ill get some pictures if he comes this weekend

Glad your OK and speedy recover to your friend.

Don't worry about the bike.

A bent subframe totals a new bike? Pretty easy to replace labour and cost wise. Frame is another story. Subframes bend easily from a lot of varying reasons.
