post bike crash?

dayum sounds like you had it a bit harsher than me, but no honestly speaking ill only wear gear if im going farthur than around the block, this crash wasn't because I had no gear it was because of my carelessness.

I always wear a helmet and gloves but i wont go full out gear down the road.

injury was due to carelessness, could have been prevented with gear or not being over confident, won't be slamming the throttle or going at any near speeds over 50km/h when going down the street.

Also, anyone know if I am turning incorrectly? For this left turn (curved road) i pushed left to turn left, however when I was turning i noticed the bike started to straighten before the curve was over.

Was I not leaning enough?


Being now the 9th day of having your bike, I don't think "leaning enough" should be on your list of worries unless you're lodging yourself up straight which I kind of doubt if you're push steering. Like someone else mentioned, you probably panicked and hit the brake when you saw the gravel - or cut off your throttle completely or pulled your clutch in all the way or you weren't looking in the right place.

Work on the turns...the speed will come naturally after.
You want to work your way up to faster turns. Not hammer into them right away.

Have a bad feeling youve been lane splitting too.... if yiu havent been..please dont.
 
Check to see if the forks aren't tweaked. If you are going straight and handlebars are turned a bit, that needs to be looked at.
It's quite a bit of force when a bike lands on the handlebars, so the alignment can be off, handlebars can be bent.
Forks are probably fine if he just low sided. If he hit a curb it'd be different. Bars are probably bent. They bend way easy on this bike. It's possible to mostly straighten them yourself (I've done it before).

Thinking critically and asking questions, regardless of whether they are "stupid" or not, are two different things.

Forums are meant for questions, discussions, shooting the **** and the occasional flame war.

Inexperienced riders have to learn somewhere and that learning is done both on and off the bike.

Saying you'd be dead within a week without asking so many questions isn't too confidence inspiring...

If you keep thinking that you're going to hit that pot hole in front of you, you will.
If you keep thinking that you're going to fall, you will.
If you keep thinking that you're going to die while riding, you probably will.

im just saying i learned a lot of stuff on this forum, and there were situations where i used information i learned here that prevented dangerous situations.

is anyone else wondering how a 17 year old is paying 3k for a 650 ninja liability only? It cost me that much for a 250
 
200K liability and nothing else?
