This but with the integrated bags on the back

Very interested to see how you like this, its a great looking bike, and at 500 cc should keep the insurance down. I have been looking to upgrade from my kawi 250 (2011) to either this bike or a vstrom 650. Congrats and as in said really looking forward to hearing how you like it. Great colour also.
Personally liked my demo ride on it. Im really excited! Gotta be the first winter i want to end real quick...usually skiing keeps me busy enough

My other option was an older (2011+) versys 650
Don't think ill regret it.

Got my forks back from powder coating...did the legs/brake mounts black!

I found a couple of imperfections on the forks so I decided to take them completely apart & get the bottoms anodized instead, I know I just wasted $50.00 but I wasn't completely happy...mind you they look great from 10 feet but once you get closer it reveals the flaws!

The forks are all apart now & I just dropped off the legs at the Anodizers to do a 2 stage black coating in semi-gloss...I wasn't very happy with the last job that was done to them, I guess that I am a perfectionist...

The only way to get the bottoms off is by heating them up to break the loctite free!

I was going to make a comment about why you wouldn't anodize those billet bottoms instead of coating. I do powder coating but I still believe that billet deserves to be anodized instead of coated. Much richer looking IMO

Although if they had been blasted to coat them, they would now not have all of the machining lines in them. And unless polished back would leave you with a flatter looking anodize because of the texture of the media blasting

They weren't blasted at all the lines are all still there!

In that case I think they will look much nicer in anodize. I re do alot of fork tubes, everyone asks for powder coat, but again being aluminum they really function and look better anodized

How expensive is anodizing? I'd like to do my motoholders subframe.

Welds on it may not come out properly unless it was welded with specific filler rods. If I am going to anodize something that needs welding, my welder has to use a special filler rod otherwise the welds will not come out the same color as the rest of the part.

Per part is cheap, but most of my anodizers have a min charge between $150-200, but for that min charge I can do a whole basket of parts. Usually I group a few peoples parts together and everyone pays $50 or so for their stuff

I agree Johnny it will definitely look a lot better anodized now!

Anodizing is all done & I must say it looks 1000 times better than powder coating or paint, this was a 2 step process so that heat and time will not make it fade...the CNC lines are visible and all that little detail is still there...I am very happy with the results now time to put everything back together...

I really wanted it to match my rotor buttons and the anodized cap on my fork if I was going to do it. I'll just leave it as is.
