new helmet
is this the new shoei gtr?

Amazing so far! Only complaint would be the heat from the exhaust around my right calf and ankle area.....

Unfortunately the heat will always be there. The only solution is to ride it faster ;).
You can replace the stock cans with after market that will somewhat alleviate the heat problem but what I found is that it just transferred to my left calf.....

edit:nvr mind I see you've put Termies on already

In in my quest to find a sub $200 full gauntlet track glove that had good protection and all the same features of the $200+ range I settled on the Scorpion SG3's and couldn't be happier so far. Anybody who hasn't heard of this model or researched this style of gloves here are the specs:

  1. Grade A leather Chassis
  2. TPU molded knuckle protection
  3. Kangaroo skin palm
  4. KnoxSPS palm sliders

  5. Superfabric armor panels

  6. Dual closure gauntlet and strap
  7. Pre-curved palm and fingers
  8. Kevlar internal palm panel
  9. Kevlar out stitched palm
  10. Ventilated TPR system

All this for under $140 to my door.

Aside from that though the bike is a dream to ride....no buyers remorse here :)

It doesn't appear to have a bonded pinky from the pics, only feature I would like to see in em.

Why not just distilled Mina? Is there benefits to this?
Is there a reason why the coolant additive I use (Amsoil Dominator Coolant boost) says NEVER to use distilled water (and I assume they mean the same for deionized). It says to add it to TAP water.

Edit: just googled it. Deionized is purer then distilled
It looks like I screwed up, it's what I found at CT yesterday and thought it would be ok!?
Apparently, I need distilled.

Can't answer your question but I use distilled water with water wetter for track days. I always thought running with tap water you're taking a chance with small contaminants messing up the aluminum in your cooling system.

Try water wetter. Lots of people swear by it and its track approved.

Yeah I've only heard of people using distilled. I googled it and it seems deionized is basically the same but a different process. I assume it cost more than my $3/4liter jug of distilled.

I think I mentioned it in another thread but deionised water is available from Big Als aquarium stores. It's used extensively in reef aquariums. I have a reverse osmosis/deionising water system in my laundry room specifically for producing water for my aquarium. Personally i have always mixed Water Wetter with bottles of water at the track for use in my bike. Never had any overheating or corossion issues.
