Wondering where GTAM stands on this as a whole.
Whether or not you live in Toronto, would you vote for Ford if there were an election today?

You should have waited until Dec 6 (one week from tomorrow) when the police documents, including wiretap information, are released to the public.

There is a *slight* chance that the new information may influence some members of Ford Nation to not vote for him again... :p

Hmmm...tough call....for me it will depend on who he is going against....

Put him up against Smitherman...or Ezra or whoever that joke candidate is every year....100% vote for Ford
Put him up against John Tory....or another viable and proper candidate....100% vote for the replacement

Agreed.

They need to start offering another option. "none of the above"
Forcing the public to pick one person from a few bad choices is not democracy.
I bet you'd see "none of the above" win many elections if it was offered.

Disagree. What I think they should do is to have greater power to recall / remove someone from office.

"You lied about your promise A, B and C" - GTF out of office. Simple and to the point. Of course you would need solid criteria for removing elected officials because you can't start the process over ********.

Another acceptable option, well said.

I hear what you're saying but i think that instead of a "none of the above" we should instead put down a chimp or the ikea monkey.

Can you imagine the papers after election? Chimp beats Kathleen Wynne and is the new premier of ontario. :lmao:

Followed by....Toronto Star has exclusive coverage of Premier Chimp throwing poop at reporters!

oh the scandals that would follow!

Thread is kind of blowing on your own face isn't? Turns out most people don't share your views

I'm at an age/stage where I couldn't care less what others think so I have no problem with that.

You wouldn't like my explanation though. ;)

Then what's the point of a democratic election if someone down the road can just get pulled from office ust because a majority group doesn't agree with the minority group? That's the whole reason why there is no option to remove the Mayor from Office unless he's been criminally charged.

Rob Ford will be Mayor again.

See, I figured Sonic the iphone girlfriend stalker would be part of ford nation. :) Ha ha ha

No, I am not a Ford supporter, I'm just a realist. The fact is he's all there really is. And despite all this crap about him, at least one things for sure, you know exactly what you're getting, unlike every other Politician....smoke, mirrors, and poof, you just got ****ed again.

Let me clarify. If Ford or whoever gets into office on certain promises and doesn't deliver there should be a mechanism for people to vote them out within the short term.

Ie: Wynne promises that McGuinty will go to jail for lies and she doesn't deliver and appoints him on a cushy post. People should have a way to vote her out of office based on lying to get elected. When CEOs screw up they get fired. This should be no different. Elected officials work for us.

and yes I believe ford will win again. People are happy having an extra 50-100 in their pocket because they're too selfish to think of the city as whole instead of only their own little world.
