Just picked this car up for a song and dance.

Wondering if anyone would know of a decent shop that would be able to do a certification

Nice! Always had a soft spot for the VW golf wagon.

For a safety? I’d go Canadian tire. I have a mechanic I use in Mississauga but he’s stupidly busy, but if you want I’ll shoot you the contact.

Nice.
I like VW wagons.

If you bought it from the dealer shouldn't they be selling it certified?

Many dealers are selling used cars uncertified and they (the honest ones!) are upfront about it, stating that the car is "as-is".
When I owned a 2.5 Rabbit (the 5 cyl model) my go-to shop was Techmaxx Auto in 'Sauga. They specialize in the german makes.

If you want a good look, perjad at Precision Tuning in Vaughan knows euro cars. For a rubber stamp, somewhere like Canadian tire is less likely to use aa safety as an opportunity for revenue generation by forcing work.

Did that one need adblue?

Yeah, it has a new ad-blue tank.
I was told that it was the reason it was pulled off the road

That 5 cylinder (half a Lamborghini ;) was the best engine ever. I loved my 2.5L Rabbit. Should never have sold it.

Nice looking wagon, should save you some $$ if you have a longer commute, emissions are the killers on all newer diesels though. Get it tuned if possible will wake the car up alot and more fun to drive. I have a 03 jetta wagon 5 speed slightly modified and get 1400km highway driving or 1000-1200km mixed. Have fun with it.

Not looking to do a delete, but wouldn’t say no to a mild tune.

Anyone who you can suggest?

03 was the sweet spot for mileage without being gutless. Newer than that had a lot more power and a lot worse mileage (the best tank on my 13 was worse that the worst tank on my 03).

What am i looking at on hwy cruise on at 100kph for mileage?

Just received an email from VW saying they are going to repair any perforation or rust under warranty on my car 😂😂😂
