Has anyone pre-purchased cs:go yet, and if so - have you tried the open beta? I logged in for a bit last night, sure seems weird... kinda feels like the switch from 1.6 to cs:s.

anyone play tribes ascend yet??? anyone remember playing starsiege tribes back in the day? was the most fun mplayer shooter ever...
the new one is fakin sick!

I spent a crazy amount of time playing the Tribes back in the day. I totally nerded out too and played with a couple different clans.. The clan vs clan games generally fizzled out and were not really fun because usually the losing side would complain about lag and connection issues and just wouldnt take beatings like men.

I thought my PC gaming days were over until somebody mentioned Tribes Ascend to me.. Started playing and it felt like putting on an old pair of shoes as it still feels a lot like the original but I am still working through some of the new functionality. Tribes is my go-to game again. The way the game is structured is brilliant with the online marketplace for weapons and such.. It can take forever though to rack up enough XP to buy stuff so it does get enticing to spend money to buy GP. They are smart.

My handle is SammytheSnail. I mostly play capture and hold but sometimes play capture the flag too.

I'm currently playing off my i7 laptop using laptop's keyboard and this crappy targus portable mouse which is not ideal and my machine gets incredibly hot when playing so I should probably be thinking about getting a proper PC and big monitor with a nice keyboard and an incredible dope gaming mouse.

I was looking through this thread hoping that someone other than me plays Tribes Ascend. Was also considering starting a thread in the romper room for Tribes too.

I play mostly Arena and C&H.
Btw ... I am the greatest.

Used to play Tribes 1 long after it died and I was f*ing awesome at it. 80% of that skill carried over to Tribes Ascend which I was really happy about.

Yeah man, you are very good indeed. I bow down in respect! I think I was much better playing the original and specifically the 'renegade' version of the game back in the day with boosters to travel faster.

I thought I was progressing nicely at Tribes Ascend but man, I was getting owned a bit in Arena.. Seems like the competition is much higher there than it is in CTF and C&H. Normally in C&H I do very well.

Gotta get me one of the Twinfusors!

NONE of you "PC GamerZ" has CS:GO yet????!!!!??? FOR SHAME!!!

Of all the "PC-centric" games, I would have figured CS to be the #1... most other games are _somewhat_ playable on consoles (with perhaps the exception of MMORPG, but I don't play those so I wouldn't know) - and some FPS games like COD and Battlefield even translate well onto consoles - but CS is one of those games that unless you have a keyboard and mouse, you're DOOMED!

I played Elite Renegades too in T1. Pathfinder is the closest thing you'll get to that. .. but still cant boost upwards.

Hey man, CS has been around for more than a decade. Not saying I'll never play CS:GO but I'm pretty sure it's not gonna have anything I haven't seen before. Plus playing a game strictly with people who mostly play CS makes me not want to play it, lol.

I bought it the other day and tried the beta. Pretty cool. I own all the other CS's but never really truly got into playing them so I'm fairly rubbish

I was a pretty religious CS 1.6 player, skipped Condition Zero and CS:S and I found CS:GO to be a little underwhelming, but for $14 and the MUCH updated graphics, I think it's worth the money.
