If any of you guys still play CS and are looking for a game let me know! I still run a private dedicated server that I can throw up custom maps on etc.

Where do I get/add the steam id? I can't find you with the one you posted.

Also, I found rawr quite easily as his steam pic is the same as his GTAM pic.

Rig= One crappy PC

Presently playing Black OPs zombie :D

No idea what my steam id is but my username is _kobayashi_maru

My rig is relatively old but I only use it to play L4D2. The tech-geek side of me has atrophied a bit over the last few years but here are the specs I recall:

Q6600 @ 2.4GHz (~3Ghz mildly OC'd)
Some run-of-the-mill Zalman cooler
EVGA 680i SE Mobo
4GB Mushkin RAM (forgot timing)
Dual XFX Nvidia 9800GTX GPUs (one is a GTX+ Superclock the other standard). Not currently running in SLI because the bridge I have isn't long enough. If anyone has an extra let me know!
OCZ Fatal1ty 550W modular PSU (I know, I know)
250GB Primary HDD
1.5TB Storage drive
Antec P180 Case (gunmetal)
Windows 7 x64
3 x Dell 23" monitors (5760 x 1080 combined)
Logitech Z623 2.1 Speakers
Logitech MX3200 cordless laser desktop

HTPC / Downloading rig:
Zotac ZBox w/ AMD E-350 dual-core CPU @ 1.6GHz
Radeon HD6310 GPU
4GB RAM
64GB Corsair SSD
~5.5 - 6TB (can't remember) in external 4 bay

The rig I sold last summer:

i7-980x (H60 I think? liquid cooling)
16gb 1866Mhz Kingston HyperX RAM
4x 520gb Intel SSD (Windows 7 Ultimate, Hackintosh and Ubuntu)
2x Asus Nvidia 580GTX SLI
Asus Rampage III Motherboard
Turtle Beach 7.1 Surround Sound card with a 7.1 system set up
EVGA 1.2KW PSU
Hitachi(?) BluRay Read/Write
3x Asus 21.4in. LED Anti-Glare Monitors
Coolmaster tower

Now I have this M18x:

Can't afford a Good rig so I have turned to consoles the last 10 years or so. However I have started using the Onlive service. Its a neat concept.

YES!! Best freebie out there! Tribes was amazing back in the day.

There is also Blacklight which is okay, kind of reminds me fear combat but with a lot more bugs.

My rig is so old, nothing overclocks anymore because the juice is all burned out

e4500 stock 2.2 (3.3oc years ago) on a scythe ninja b
gigabyte I can't even remember the name at the moment
radeon 4780

I'm mostly playing tribes and diablo3 now, but I don't play as much as I did back in the day.

Do you find it works well for you? It looks like a great concept...

You need an awesome connection. I have a 25/7 (although all that is required is 5Mbit) with unlimited data. That's very important. As for the service, for what it is its very good.

The resolution due to current compression tech is not so hot but still not that bad. Some games translate better to the service (Dirt, Arkham City, Street fighter) how ever some games suffer from slight lag in the controls, mainly dead island.

As for a gaming service FOR ME it offers a little freedom. I have a 3 year old HP dv7 that's geared more towards HD video playback rather then games. However with Onlive I can still play newer games at their highest settings (even multiplayer) on the old clunker.

Its also nice to go out to the deck in the yard, plug and Xbox controller into the laptop, log on and game away outside instead of having to go in on a nice night to play. Its game selection is slowly growing but currently I would not say the selection epic. They also have a monthly subscription that lets you play a huge list of games unlimited for $9.99 a month or you can buy full access to single games and play it like you own it.

VERY IMPORTANT! YOU SHOULD PLUG YOUR CAT5 RIGHT INTO YOUR COMPUTER. I use wifi and once in a while the screen freezes or the game lags as wifi is not the most solid way to connect to the net. I give the service a

7.5/10.

You can try it yourself for free. Download the desktop app from onlive.com and they have a bunch of free trial games that last 30mins. You don't need a credit card to sign up and play the free demos.

BTW anyone still play MotoGP 07? It's my favorite one as it was the last MotoGp made by Climax before Disney bought them.

So I was thinking of getting a gaming laptop but don't want to pay for an alienware. Who makes a gaming laptop that is both good in terms of quality and price?

no matter what...laptops are not good for gaming.

Seriously, you can get a "gaming" marketed laptop for $1000 at futureshop. but realistically, its just not worth it.

Very wasteful spending if you want something for gaming. You cant upgrade a laptop, so its good for a season and then junk within a year (relatively speaking)

you can build a gaming rig for pennies if you wanted to
your only expense is the video card for the most part

i got a gigabyte i7 board with 12 gb tripple channel ram on kijiji for $200.

then added a gtx 460 - ~$100

old hard drive, and your done...providing you have screen, keyboard, etc

so i started there, and then when i had cash, added things like better video card, solid state drive, etc...now its a monster.

also liquid cooling can be had these days for $70 at canada computers...my cpu runs at such low temps its unreal!
and also the overall motherboard temps and case temps went down...also its a silent pc.

I want something portible though. I know a gaming laptop won't touch a tower but like I said I like to go outside with it.
