Opinion on 2011 Z10R /w ABS

Jeebus. Is that even possible? The latest R1 is a tank!

FYI, an Aprilia RSV4-R is in the same price bracket as the new 10 (or new R1). And it's a lot nicer looking, cooler bike. Much stronger where it counts on the street, too. No ABS or TCS on it, but I care not for these things on the street.

I didnt realize they were that inexpensive. For no particular reason i figured they were a fair bit more than their competition.

After much consideration, I think I am going to go with ZX-6R.
My friend has R6, which I rode this long weekend, so much fun :) ...
See you guys on the road ... will in riding mostly in uptown Richmond Hill, I'll check the "hook-up" ride sections for meeting times, etc.

Anyone here has experience with Viper Smart Start with GPS Security System or even CompuStar Droid system? (minus the auto-starting function ... now, we don't want the bike jumping, now do we ? LOL!)

State Farm advised they could be a discount if there is real-time GPS tracking security system installed

Really? My broker told me StateFarm does not offer any discounts for any extra security systems on bikes or cars.

I don't know why there is a conflicting information, but I would think it would make sense: real-time GPS monitoring, so, if your bike is stolen, they can trace it (easier recovery, no stolen bike, minus the damages for the repair), BTW, it is not hooked to the factory battery, there are other primary and secondary sources for these systems (that I was told by an installer), I believe, there is a total of 4 power systems (miniture battery packs or something...), the thief has to get all four of these to disable the GPS, by the time the 1st wire is cut, it is radioed in and apprently it can be continously traced before the 2nd or 3rd or 4th wire is clipped, that should atleast give some time for the cop or police to get there. :)

I didn't say it didn't make sense... just what they told me. Although unless the thief is kinda dumb, a GPS tracker is pretty useless since you can buy a GPS or cell phone (which is probably the communication technology in the unit) blocker for about $20-30 each online.

Please tell me you don't live in a condo. Also....these GPS systems, do they have more powerful antennae than normal car systems? Do they work say....while in the back of a stolen minivan covered with an aluminum emergency blanket?

Or this. Not to mention if you head underground to cut the wires it won't work.

It's not worth the money. Just get theft and call it a day because if they want, they're going to get it.
