Sure, the 600cc bikes are perfectly reasonable and easily justifiable for the street, while a 1000cc, on the other hand, is a total overkill. :lol:
 
The biggest mistake you can make is to think that "now that I'm riding a liter bike, I'm a good rider".

Think of it this way: "now that I ride a liter bike, smaller mistakes can get me in bigger trouble" and you'll be fine.
 
I think your stupid, to be totally honest.... if your coming off a 250r, which looks to be an older 250, not even the most modern ones, i wouldn't step anything over a 600... hell even a sv 650 etc... get used to a bike, learn to ride, learn to corner, brake, etc... then consider moving up

and pls don't tell me you know how to ride after your short period of time, cause even the best of us on this forum are learning new things each time we go out....

Every modern 1000cc bike is heavier than a Gen 1 10R. My 04 was 16lbs under weight for the Nationals @ 344lbs without fuel. I remember talking to Rick Nelson about Andy's 09 R1 and they were having a hard time getting under 400lbs in race trim.

I think I might consider the ZX-6R, one thing I like to change, is the front mirrors of ZX-6R, replace them with the ZX-10R mirrors, and have a streak-line blue LED across replaced, of course, getting the black one, not a fan of the green colour ... I wonder why the colour options are so limited....

You do realize that there are many aftermarket options for either bike, not to mention all the other brands and models...

posting questions on the forum with zero research done...i think that's really what's irking folks here.

Bikes are still "suppose" to be lighter as they go into the future, not heavier. But there's always something that doesnt happen. But you'll find that the top bikes will always drop (BMW being super light, ducati always trying to drop weight also, etc). -_-

Yes on the street, and yes on the track..... and more so on the street, as the environment is always changing, and unlike the track, where we have a controlled variables, the street is full of stupid ppl daily , and the stupidity never seems to go away

You bet. All the weight added over the years is emissions and noise related. Most bikes these days will easily shed 30lbs with an aftermarket full exhaust system upgrade.

the more you ride the less there is to learn, the law of diminishing returns etc etc. After 1000's of street rides you start to experience the same situations over and over, learning becomes limited.

Jeebus. Is that even possible? The latest R1 is a tank!

FYI, an Aprilia RSV4-R is in the same price bracket as the new 10 (or new R1). And it's a lot nicer looking, cooler bike. Much stronger where it counts on the street, too. No ABS or TCS on it, but I care not for these things on the street.

I was lucky enough to ride a buddy's RSV4 factory a couple weeks ago, no words to describe it
