On his way to a Service Ontario office in Mississauga, Nouman says a man in a grey or silver-coloured car nearly ran him off the road on Dundas Street. Fortunately, Nouman swerved into an empty lane just in time and caught up with the car at a red light where he was able to write down the licence plate to file another a police report.
While there's no way of knowing for sure, he believes the incident was just one of the many motivated by his licence plate. Peel Regional Police confirmed to CBC News that Nouman did file a report, but would not confirm the date or say whether they are investigating.
First sentence:But he wasn't powerless, he just didn't want to pay the 60 bucks to change it.
Why does everyone want to be a victim?
If I got a plate that said , PAWG ( phat ass white girl ) , and I could fix that for $59 before some dude invited me to a sleazy motel, I’d get on that .
Maybe you should read the article.First sentence:
"An Ontario man who fled Afghanistan amid the threat of a militant takeover says his life was endangered multiple times because of a licence plate resembling the word ISIS that he never asked for and that the province refused to change until he was nearly killed."
Maybe read the whole story and not just the headline ?
Yes, I could pay this amount to avoid this kind of thing but at the same time Service Ontario has a responsibility to provide me with a set of plates that doesn't get me killed, right?
If Service Ontario gave you a plate that said BUTFKR1 would you be wrong to ask for another ?Maybe you should read the article.
I'd prefer BUTTFKR and see no problem with it.. LOLIf Service Ontario gave you a plate that said BUTFKR1 would you be wrong to ask for another ?
I see, we are moving goal posts. If Service Ontario gave you a plate that said BUTFKR1 would you be wrong to ask for another ?
That is a good point, why was the plate not refused at time of issue?I see, we are moving goal posts.
I would refuse the plate at time of issue. Also, if later I found issue with my plate, I would pay the 60 bucks, not whine to the CBC.
No moving goal posts - Service Ontario outlets are independent contractors.I see, we are moving goal posts.

Dealer registered the bike? He hasn’t realized how it can be read? Whatever. That is a good point, why was the plate not refused at time of issue?

If you get some pusillanamous peckerhead behind the counter who refuses to give you a different plate and you need it right now would you pay the extra $60 ?
Just asking , you know, for a friend...
Practical, not theoretical - what would you do ?So we are just making up theoretical situations now?
