Old Nipissing Road - Dual Sport/Adventure/Touring Ride - Saturday, May 9th

I'm in. Heading down to mcdonalds on Eglinton, leaving Barrie area by 7:30. Anyone wants to meetup at Innisfil Beach rd and ride down together, post up otherwise I'll be going straight through to Mississauga.
See you guys there :)

I'll probably still head up to Nipissing and do some exploring. I'll be at the Innisfil stop at 8am if anyone else is still heading that way.
I was planning on coming up and meeting you there, but this new meeting spot is about 30 seconds from my house, and I've never been out that way, so I'm going to stay dry and keep to the south. Let us know how the trail is if you go.
So that Airhawk I bought really sucks.... *sigh*
Guess I will be standing for half the ride.............. :lmao:
Chase, I can bring my other seats if you want to try them - they aren't that pretty and not sure if they will even fit your bike, but it's no big deal for me to bring them.

Mike, is anything we are doing too tight for me to have my side cases on the bike?

See you all at 10!

It's only about 75 minutes ride from Barrie - I would think 90 minutes tops, so you might be a bit early if the departure time is 10am.

Maybe, but I gotta get an egg mcmuffin lol. See you there.
I also wanted to leave a little time in case anyone wants to meet at IBR.

Regarding the side cases... I think there is one closed road on the route that has those concrete barriers we will drive through, and your cases might be too wide -- but I don't think it is that tight and you can always bypass that section if you have to.

I'm bringing mine, I'll pop them off to pass the barriers if I have to. :D
I'm leaving in 5, see y'all soon.

Nice riding with you all today and thanks Mike for putting together the route and leading the way - hope everyone made it home okay. Sorry I had to leave when I did, but good thing I did because my Mom was waiting for me on my driveway when I got home.
Cheers!

I think it was 7:20 before CAA finally arrived and Chase's 690 was carted away. I got home at 8:30 after just slabbing it home.

Good riding with you all.
Here are some pics I took:

Great day guys. Good meeting everyone, great route Mike. I rolled home about 9:30 with around 700km total for the day. :)
Hope Chase made it home ok, in his nice comfy tow truck. Lol
The best part, was the giant submarine and not one drop of rain!
Nice pics, who knew the back of my head was grey too.
Oh and you'll be happy to know, no troubles finding the kickstand when I got home.

What happened to Chasem's bike?

Roofing nail in the rear tire. We tried hard, but we just couldn't save it. :(
Big shout out to DemonPig for the caa card though.

I want to give a big shout out to you guys. Great ride, and really appreciated the comradery. I definitely was not expecting people to stay... Nice to shoot the **** every once in awhile.

Props to Iceman, Motorcycle Mike, Shane, il3dsm, & last but not least Demon Pig (The tow truck driver liked your bike the best BTW... and your CAA membership saved my ***)

As soon as I opened my visor, and got a rock in the face I figured something would happen.. heh heh. Little did I know there was a nail with my name on it. Luckily we were within CAA range.

Iceman -> I'm glad your kickstand did not remain elusive... :lmao:

BTW The schedule has been cleared for next Saturday. Granted I get the tire replaced.....

Okay well I got my new tire... Heidenau Scout K60. I decided to go this route, as I can be a little hard on tires.. and apparently the K60 has remarkable tread life. Also got a heavy duty tire tube. I'd wager it's atleast 3x thicker then the Pierelli tube I removed (I wonder if that will have a negative aspect....)

Anywhoo... That tire slime made one hell of a mess :banghead:

The hole was a decent size on the tire tube (note the green slime all inside the tire, not the tube)

Okay so the K60 was an absolute BEAST to put on... Really stiff sidewalls.

Dang. So it just leaked through the hole into the tire? How big was the hole in diameter approximately?
Nice pictures.

You've been slimed! :)
Hopefully you get more than 3k on the Heidenau. Lol Once again I'm pretty excited for Saturday, but I'll try to remember my kickstand when I arrive at the meet. :D

The hole didn't **seem** too big... but I guess with the thin tube it would just barf all inside the tire :P

I'm excited too... just actively trying to figure out the range issue. Probably just going to strap a 5L to the side somehow. Also a cruise control would go a long way......

Don't worry the meeting spot won't be jammed pack this time.......... lol.
