The SportsterS sounds like a mini Pan Am. It has ALL the same features.
The valve train uses hydraulic lifters.

I am buying some at market open, earnings on July 21, should see a rise leading up to it. Only concern is if they talk about supply shortages constricting production. Wonder how much of a Harley is made of parts from other than the US..... Orders and outlook should be rosy as hell.HD seems to finally be turning the corner. Will watch the stock price.
not much based on the sticker priceWonder how much of a Harley is made of parts from other than the US

Ordered my Pan Am 5 weeks ago. I might have to wait for a 2022. They have run out of spoked wheels. The Pan Am Special is sold out everywhere.I am buying some at market open, earnings on July 21, should see a rise leading up to it. test rideeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeMississauga HD said they had a few, but that was a while back. I know Barrie had a couple on the floor, 1 was a special, also a few weeks ago, and they may not sell demos or display models.
I don't mind having somewhere forward to put my feet while cruising. As I said before, I really want (almost a need) to have pegs roughly underneath me as the main control points. Too far up and back is not great for me either but I can still stand on those, I am just really high off the bike which hurts control. With your feet forward, to lift your butt, you pull back on the bars which destabilizes everything and doesn't get you much space to absorb a hit.I prefer forward controls. They're more comfortable on the highway. Install some stirrups and it's the most comfortable seating position you'll ever have. I have them on my FXSTC. I can't stand bikes with backward controls. I feel scrunched up, like I'm kneeling, crotch pushed up to the tank and circulation cut off to your legs - horrible. Best left to the Sunday riders on sport bikes.
HD's (Typically) have a silent alarm as factory if the bike is moved the lights flash. I think you can set it to "chirp" but no siren.Tpms is available as an option. Not sure if they include it standard in a future package.
Another weird option is a cable to connect a siren to the alarm. Not sure if whole alarm is optional or if you can add a siren instead of a horn.
If that isn't one of the chips that is OOS worldwide.just noticed it seems have cornering ABS and TC which means it should have a 6 axis IMU.
dope!
i haven't heard anything about that, but could be.If that isn't one of the chips that is OOS worldwide.

incorrect, as per the HD media clips it does have VVT. Hence the valve check free motor. No VVT on the Sportster. A clear cost cutting measure. Not a great move on a $20,000 bike.
I think you are getting things mixed up. Vvt (variable valve timing) should have nothing to do with valve check intervals. Hydraulic lifters will be common across the engines.incorrect, as per the HD media clips it does have VVT. Hence the valve check free motor.
Very similar motor to the Pan Am, but not quite. Sportster is down 30hp, i think it has slightly more end torque but has about 10% more torque overall in the midrange.
