Am I missing something? If the cat is welded onto the 08 header, and the cat is welded to the 07 exhaust...wouldn't he have to cut one or the other anyways?

Nope the K7 muffler has the cat attached and unbolts from the header in 1 piece.

That's what he's saying. If the header is 08 and the muffler is 07 he would have 2 cats/muffler boxes on it. He would have to use 06-07 headers to make it work.

Correct 06-07 headers are required, and its a popular part used by K8+ owners because it's a cheap/easy way to go catless without buying a full exhaust. just unbolt the 07 muffler from the 07 header, install catless slip on and you're set.
