My guess is that the Lord of creation knows best who really wins in the end. And he says "whoever exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted"
+100% always.

3 sides to every story.
Indeed. Cycle World West doesn't sit well with me after they sold a lemon to a friend. Bike sold as a 'creampuff' had the engine go kaput in less than 200 kms.. guess what their response was?
Yes, I understand the caveat emptor rule on purchasing used motorcycles (5 years old at the time), but the yelling she (friend) got after the fact was beyond un-called for.
CWW always has those ads for ridiculously priced used bikes and predatory interest rates and financing fees. They really tend to prey on naive riders, because they know most people are transient to motorcycles -this has not changed with them in 30 years, that's how they choose to do business. Apparently, it works.

Bart
CWW Co-Owner ~ Business Manager
Bart started out in the Service Department with Motorcycle Superstore back in 2005 on River Street. He continued to work in Service at the new Cycle World Superstore when the store moved to the East end, after which he became Co-Owner and Business Manager at the new Cycle World West (CWW).
There he is responsible for the day-to-day operations and he also operates at CWW as the Lead Motorcycle Technician. His specialty is dirt bikes, but he is well qualified and more than happy to work on any motorcycle.
Okay so I just got back home. First thing Bart says is he's sorry for the mishap, and "apparently" the mechanic mixed up the work orders since there were two virago 250s in storage and the other bike was the one that was empty. He specifically said that he took back everything that he said and apologized profusely, he also told us he topped the tank up to full on the house, so we didn't need to use the 5 litres we brought. So I picked up the bike when he took it around to the front, there was no visible damage that wasn't there already from before. I brought my riding gear just in case since she's relatively new and it was a long winter. Rode off everything was fine.
The whole situation shouldn't have happened in the first place even if she brought it in empty, the conversation should have been handled a lot differently in a more informative manner. I've been working as a comm. and resi HVAC service tech for 9 years and have never even shifted my tone with a customer, regardless of how much animosity is coming from them. Off the clock, I'm more confrontational... I guess some people handle things differently. All in all she is happy that things went smoothly, he did apologize for it in the end and got a top off for free. IMO he did make it right, but you guys can draw from our experience and make your own judgement.
Too little too late. AFAIC
Had an issue with Richmond Hill Toyota after buying a new car. Their mistake that they tried to strong arm. They lost all future servicing and sales to my family and anyone I can warn.
Who knows, maybe the rude fella from the beginning just stubbed his toe or got a door ding on their car. Or roid-rage.
Or both.
EH,
I have empathy, and as long as a company rights a wrong (at the first face-face meeting), I clear the slate.
All the months and years that you undertake to badmouth a company, could be better utilized in planning your next day/weekend trip/making money/good-mouthing (lol) others.
Life's too short amigo! Who knows, maybe the rude fella from the beginning just stubbed his toe or got a door ding on their car. Or roid-rage.
Or both.
