Sorry, I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but get their insurance and lic. information before doing anything. It's up to you if you want to let them pay for the damages directly. Problem is these arrangements often go sour and you want to be able to just throw up your hands if they start being unreasonable and say "screw it, we're going through insurance".

I don't want to ruin anybody's day.. but from what I understand, because this happened in a parking lot and not on the street her insurance isn't required to foot the entire bill for your new bike.. I've heard of insurance companies refusing all together, or sometimes of it being a 50/50 split between hers and yours..

Her insurance wouldn't pay it anyways. We have no fault insurance in Ontario. Her insurance would pay his deductible though, and it's unlikely that his rates would be increased.

Couple of accidents I had I was not at fault. my insurance paid for my damages, but their insurance company paid my deductible.
