Motorcycle Supershow - International Center - Jan 6-8

would like to go just to try more variety of gear on.
advise for new riders going to their first show is just to take it all in!
plans for 2023 is to ride to the east coast. this year my scheduled time to do it literally overlapped with the giant storm so i postponed. blah.

Looking forward to this show, it's been so long... had covid last year, or maybe I was just sick, it's all blurring together heh. Always love going and sitting on some bikes, looking at things i never want to own, buying dry cured meats, walk around and some quality time with my riding family for a couple hours. This year, maybe upgrade my girlfriends Rebel, get some new boots, definitely buy some more meats.
But really just hoping to ride more this coming season, just feels like less and less as the days go on and years go by.

So far, we have 1 winner..... post #14.

Keep talking folks... what did you buy at the LAST motorcycle show that you attended?
My last purchase was a high viz Jacket with CE armor that i should be wearing more instead of my Kawasaki Vulcan leather jacket.

Upgrading to what? Rebel 500/1100 or joining the dark side of the force (yamaha)?
She liked the thought of sitting on another 500 (currently on a 15yo or something 250), but also the Vulcan S, maybe even a sportster? She's a bit y-axis deficient so the low seat is important for her heh

She doesn't like my FZ that much to want another one in the garage.

Has she tried a scout 60, it sits very low.
Vulcan 900 is a fairly easy upgrade from Rebel. Feel free to take mine for a test ride if you want

She definitely hasn't tried the scout. I've given it a sit n ride from a buddy in Stoufville, rides nice and smooth, sounds very... electronic? The butt feedback/dyno was having a hard time determining how fast I was going!
900 was also on the table at one point for sure, I might take you up on that offer myself!

Ding Ding Ding... our final winner of a set of tickets to the 2023 International Motorcycle Supersow is post #43. Congratulations

I'm going with my son's room mate. He became interested in riding a couple of years ago, pulled the trigger and did his M2 course in June.

I helped him find his path, did his course then got pirate fever.

Got his first bike in July, Vulcan 900. He piled 10K km on her this season -- he's still riding, I gave him a ticket to the show - he wants us to ride to the show Saturday. He's excited, really excited.

Sharp Rider Motorcycle training will be offering course discounts to those that attend the show and sign up for a Total Control Intermediate or Advanced course this season. Sharp Rider is proud to partner with Oatley Vigmond to offer a Ride Safe Scholarship to 5 students that have successfully completed one of the courses this season.

It was a bit of a long night setting up for the show, but we are super excited to see so many vendors coming out. Looking forward to seeing all the riders over the next 3 days.

Anyone know which gear dealers will be at the show this year?

Rider's choice will be there....GPBikes is not going to be. That's all I know.
No GP Bikes, no Pro 6 and no 613 Motorsports.
Other than Riders Choice, not sure what the gear selection will be like. Royal sometimes goes but last time they just brought a crap ton of the same helmets.

Seems like a lot of the bigger gear vendors have opted out of this show for some reason. You'd think that after the last few years they'd want to have a big sales weekend. Unless the promoter/organizer (or venue) is charging a lot more for floorspace now...seems odd to me.

Of course, they also could have realized that offering "show" prices on their online stores, is a lot less costly and labour intensive than trucking all that gear to the show and dealing with setup/teardown. Could also be staffing issues.

People watching is part of it. Esp the Harley crowd. I'm going to to the show to catch up with people in the vintage and off road segments. And my friend Bernadette has never been, so she'll probably love the chance to buy beef jerky.
