MotoGP Round 04 - myWorld Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich - Red Bull Ring - AUSTRIA - 14 Aug - 16 Aug
Free Practice Four (FP4) is now LIVE STREAMING in 1080p50, 720p50 and 360p50HQ!

Server timestamp: 12:26

I've been also having issues with the new server.
...(even the 360 link) are often buffered.
but i seem to have buffering issues here at the office.
Can anyone that has poor speed to the new server try these two?

Oslo, Norway: Free Range Cloud - Looking Glass
Lelystad,The Netherlands: Free Range Cloud - Looking Glass

And to the person who is in Mexico I believe can you test this one: Fremont, California: Free Range Cloud - Looking Glass

You can download the test file and see what the speed looks like or if your modem/router doesn't block pings then you can also put your own IP address in the box and click run test. Download speed of the test files is most important though.

Thanks!

Thanks, Johncruiser. I have tested. But, actually, I don't understand with the results. Below are the test results.
Best regrads,

I have tested,

(3) Download
3.1. Server Location: Oslo, Norway
. Download via Chrome Browser. I have downloaded 500MB.test. Download via this browser took about 13 minutes. My internet speed was not stable. So that the download speed fluctuated. The download speed was between 700 KB / s to 1.1 Mbps.
Meanwhile, at Server Location: Lelystad, The Netherlands, downloading 500MB.test took about 11 minutes.
3.2. Server Location: Oslo, Norway. Downloading 500MB.test via Internet Download Manager (IDM) took about 7 minutes. Whereas at Server Location: Lelystad, The Netherlands, downloading 500MB.test took about 5-6 minutes, with an average speed of 2 Mbps to 4 Mbps.

Ahhh, those results tell a lot. The fact you could double your speed (or more) with IDM shows you'll need multiple threads to get good speed from those servers, and I don't know of any streaming software that will pull multiple threads, even ffmpeg won't do it. Hmmm.

Could you test Vancouver, ping and 500mb download with both IDM and without: Free Range Cloud - Looking Glass

and maybe Fremont as well then let me know the numbers. Thanks! Free Range Cloud - Looking Glass

Thanks for looking into it, John!

For me using a multi-threaded download manager also gave better results, but not as much.

Interestingly, the California server which is supposed to be closer, gave me the worst speeds, about 300k/s single and 700k/s multi, whereas the Vancouver one gave 700k/s single, 1.2 to 1.5M/s multi. Montreal seems to be the most consistent still.

Anyway, I was digging a little and realized that multithread stream video is almost impossible or at least won’t serve its purpose since a manager can download chunks of a file or video from different parts of it to then later merge them. If you try to do this for an online stream it makes no sense as you’ll have same or worse situation as you’re watching the first chunk from the beginning of the stream and then moving forward as you watch it. That first chunk will have same or less speed as if you download it individually.

I think it's not necessary to dig much more, at least for me. I can live with it or find some alternatives. I watch the races about 2 hours later most of the times, so it's fine .

Right now, I’m able to open the stream with VLC and add some caching (e.g. 2-3 seconds or more) it seems to be working great and no stopping.
If I can wake up at 7am on a Sunday tomorrow ...?, I’ll try to test while in the live race and see how it works then at peak time.

Best regards!

Ok guys, found a live player that can use up to 64 internet threads and if you pause it it'll keep buffering (i.e. when the race starts, you can pause it, wait 10 minutes for big buffer, then start it)!!! It'll murder your internet for anyone else in your house but should play the stream for you perfectly!

To play it on a computer:

Install Ace Stream Media Player 3.1: Ace Stream

After installed, open "Ace Player" (looks like VLC player).

Click Media, Open Ace Stream Content ID

Copy and paste this content key: **new key coming soon**

Click play!

Hello Free Range Cloud Customer,

You are receiving this message because you have one or more services in our Toronto datacenter which will be effected by an upcoming power outage scheduled by our DC operator. On August 16th, beginning at 1AM ET, power will be cut to the entire facility in order to facilitate UPS and breaker replacement. Ahead of the outage window (12:30 ET) we will begin gracefully powering down our infrastructure to prepare for the outage. At this time, we have been told power restoration is expected around 5AM ET. At this time someone will be onsite to power on our equipment and ensure successful bootup.

We apologize for the short notice, as we only received notification of this outage yesterday. If you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to our support team.

Regards,

Free Range Cloud Hosting Inc.

Message was in my spam box, server just went down, went to see why, yikes. I'll get it back up as soon as the power is back up, not sure how I'm going to be able to put the stuff it misses (warm up, etc.) :(

Ok, I've spun up a new server in UK to handle the power outage, same link as montrealSSD (i.e. you don't have to change anything). Hopefully the speed is OK for everyone!

In case your DNS didn't update you can also use uk.server.com (instead of montrealssd.server.com).

Woah, quick thinking, JC. Everything is looking stable so far, I just tuned into the end of Moto3 WUP in 720p and its looking good. Well done!

Thanks for being on top of things, I was going to crash early but thought I'd check into see how things were going, so now I can't help but stay up for all the effort.

Thanks! I had lots of trouble getting 1080p working but 720p and 360p are looking good! If they roll the encryption key it'll kill the stream but I should be able to restart it where it left off.

Hi, Johncruiser, good afternoon,
I am watching Austria Warm Up now. Yes, everything is looking stable. Maybe there are not much people online right now so I can watch it smoothly. Correct me if I am wrong. Thank you for your efforts for us.

Those numbers look good. I'll spin up a temp server in Fremont and try and get Ace stream working so you can stream the video the same way IDM works. Will let you know when ready to test.

This season is just ...WOW!

BTW thanx John 1080 looks great.
Yep, absolutely absurd season. When it gets close to the last few races I hope the championship is perfectly even between the top 10 guys!

Thanks for the report, looks like the UK server worked really well for a lot of people, but it's super expensive vs. the Toronto or California servers. Hmmm....

Holy sugar, the ending of FP3 is super juicy!!! Can't wait for Quali :)

Hi everybody

First of all thank you JohsCruiser for all your work!

I was out for 2 weeks, when I came in, I noticed that the news from the Brno race where very odd, so first of all I got it from a torrent source. Yes It was unexpected, as a matter of fact I think it was one of the best races, very competitive with a very nice result. Having MM#93 out for some time, gives an especial opportunity to some old and new riders to be seen. I want MM#93 back soon, but I like this new era with new names, it is very competitive and more fun to watch.

After I finish the Brno race I came in here to see what was going on. I started to watch for FP1, but something distracted me and I couldn't finish. Late night I try to watch the next FPs, but something was not working properly and at one point it just went off. I read some messages from JohnCruiser that there was a energy blackout or something in Toronto, and that there was a new server from england. It did not work for me. Then suddenly the streaming was back, but it was from the warm ups. I try all the servers 1080, 720 and 360 and in all 3 channels it was from warm ups.

I haven't seen the Austria race yet, I want to see Fps before. Does some anyone knows where could I get the FPS and Qualys?

Thank you Johncruiser for all your efforts, it is amazing!!!

Regards,

ErreEle
