MotoGP 2015

Lorenzo vs Marquez, Jerez 2013 last lap. The kid did the same thing. Basically bombed into the corner knowing he wont be able to make the turn and used the outside rider as a bern to bounce off of.

If you can find the Jerez 2013 last lap video you will clearly see what his strategy was. IMO thats dirty, and im glad it didnt work for him.

I like MM but his win it or bin it attitude is only amusing when he craters himself and no-one else.

Rossi racecraft was superb, in fact i suspect he let the kid through and followed him around to see exactly where he was faster or slower then passed him with a strategy in mind. He is afterall, the GOAT.

MM move on Rossi was okay. You guys should have watched WSBK n WSS race in Assen. VdM move on Haslam n Suofoglu move on Cluzel was even dirtier, no penalty or whatsoever.

A lot of corners produced controversial overtake including that Jerez. MM actually learned from the previous generation overtaking maneuver. MotoGP is more alive now because of MM :)

It is why we watch after all, but these guys seem to forget that their moves can have career ending consequences sometimes. Guess that's why they are world champs they are ruthless lol

+1 one of the best post news confrences.

Mike Webb:“The two balancing things are that it was a hard pass with contact and you are not allowed to push another rider off the line. But the end result was that they entered and exited that series of corners in the same position. No advantage gained. End of story.”

I have to say I lost a little respect for Marquez. He's accusing Rossi of "motocrossing", but there is no way he would have made that trajectory by that dive unless Rossi decided to let him pass.
He should have gracefully considered it a racing incident, as he himself has brushed off these concerns in the past with moves like that on Pedrosa.

The reality is Rossi knew he would make that move (everybody did, even the TV announcers predicted it before the lap started), because that's what Marquez does, and Rossi was willing to risk getting knocked off. Who knew he would cross the gravel in full control, and still cross the finish line in a wheelie?

This will be a scene in the next "Faster, Fastest" series and talked about for decades. Great racing in Assen, as usual, all tiers of Motos.

That exact move on that very same corner has been used by others in the past, including Jorge. They actually showed Jorge doing it to someone else on the Eurosport feed.

If the situation were reversed, Rossi would have put the same move on Marquez.

but it wasn't reversed. rossi got back into the lead before the final turn on the final lap.

Why did MM complain that if it wasn't Rossi, the race direction would have favoured MM instead.

I don't think he complained, I think he was asked that question and he politely replied. Unless I missed where he said that

I find race direction to always be right on point with their determinations, those guys can make use of many cameras and points of view.

Yes... that helicopter shot was pretty much it.

Possibly, but they then wouldnt go bitching and whining how the other rider made it out ok and maintained their position after their little maneuver failed. MM should stop channelling Stoner.

Hate to have to agree.
