MotoGP 2014

Finally able to watch the race. Unfortunate to see all those bikes lose their front ends like that.

Rossi looks rejuvenated (as a fan of his, I am happy to see that), but Marquez/Honda was just faster today (you the acceleration on the straight was obvious). Even more impressive coming off a broken leg and little testing. It is going to be a fun season.

I also feel bad for the old CRT bikes from last year (PBM, Avintia, ART). They're going to be at the back of the grid pretty much all season long. While they are part of the open class, they really are their own class of bikes too.

Well I don't see who else he or the other two could blame for in this particular corner. All three squeezed the front brake little too much for too long.
I guess he could blame it on a tire or something, but he would look like an utter idiot. Anyone would.

I'd have to say it was a combination of track and tire, for the most part. Look at the 3 that crashed out there - Lorenzo, Bradle, Bautista. They all had the bike standing at the moment they crashed. They weren't deep into the corner losing the front, they were only just slowing down for the corner entry. They were still too aggressive, sure - that's evidenced in everyone else staying up. But it's hard to believe that all 3 (and Smith, for that matter), would all make the same race mistake. The tires simply aren't up to being handled as they were last year, in my opinion.

In any case, a fantastic race because of it all. Even if the order remains, the tight grid makes for a much more entertaining race.

Very different riding styles.

Look at those front tires!

All of the younger guys back it in sideways ... product of the Moto2 class ... look at young Espargaro, Redding ..... all similar.

Colin Edwards to retire at the end of the 2014 season.....

I'm sad but all good things come to an end. He was a great personality in the paddock and good with the fans! Enjoyed watching him race and his interviews. Good Luck to him!

Ah that sucks, I guess the last nail in the coffin was his team mate being so much faster on the same bike this year. He is one of 5 people i follow on twitter

Sad news about Colin but at 40 years old he's almost twice the age of the current World Champion. He seems to be a great guy and very well respected around the paddock. I always enjoyed his behind the scenes videos he did for MotoGP After the Flag.

Two of my favourites as teammates.
