That is scary
Tho', the ones that work better are "Feather", they cost more than 10c a blade but are still less costly than the multi-blade cartridges.
As if anyone is going to go to that much effort.we have a toaster with a bluetooth connection , it will make my phone go ding when the toast is done.
Or I can just watch it pop up,
Five bucks says the toaster has a microphone. Gets you around phone permissions if the sound is gathered externally and transmitted as data. But it's called the internet of things... they wants every appliance to eventually be connected that way they can gather all your data points to sell you stuff

It is all about the right combination of blade and razor for you. Different blades shave differently. When you hit the combo they work extremely well. There is a bit of technique but it is not some major skill either.... I found when I made the switch I had a bad habbit of going too fast that I needed to break. Places that sell safety razors online usually offer combo packs to let you try different brands.I have a collection of old safety razors (like my Dad used to use). For grins my son and I loaded them up with fresh blades to give it a whirl.
OMG what a pain fest. Not sure how the ol'boy ever managed that on a regular basis.
Seems like a bunch of you (REAL MEN) are still using them. What am I doing wrong?

What about the razor. If it holds the blade is it good enough? They all look similar. It is all about the right combination of blade and razor for you. Different blades shave differently. I use Astra Premium Platinum blades with my Merkur razor. The Merkur blades are a little better for me than the Astra but you get 100 Astra blades for $15 give or take, that lasts me many years.
Yes, another point. Shaving creme is a no go, at first I thought "yeah right" well it is no good for this. You need the brush and soap. I used to buy fancy shaving soaps...I just use Dove now. Right after a shower or in the bath....I’m no shaving savant, but this is what works for me. Guaranteed a nice close shave with mostly zero cuts or irritation.
- Shave immediately after shower, don’t dry off face
- Use a high quality shave cream/soap. I like Proraso soap (Taylor Of Old Bond Street if I want to be fancy) with a badger brush to be old school cool. Started using Nivea Protect cream when travelling which works just as well, just less cool. Gilette super foamy whatever doesn’t work for me at all.
- Shave with a near zero pressure and with the grain. You can do multiple passes, perpendicular then against the grain, to get a super duper close shave. I don’t bother.
The last point is key, multi blade razors have safety handicaps to keep you from slicing your face, DE razors don’t.
Different razors models/brands will have very fine differences. There are also different types of razor heads like open comb, safety bar, closed comb etc. My Merkur is a closed comb from memory, it has been a long time since I thought about it.What about the razor. Also any warm towel action or just a warm face wash first?
I'd really like to be able to use these razors. One has a handle that unscrews and fits in a little metal tin the size of a large stamp. AND I want to quite gettin screwed on the multi blade shite
