Milton Riders

ride safe and come back and tell us the good roads!

Good roads!!! wow wow wow wow wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! freaking unreal just about any road you turn on is an extended snake road.It wasn't abnormal to see a sign saying winding road for 20 miles although there were a few that stood out for me 44-144-244 and wykoff run was unbelievable with about 15 minutes of pure hard curves left right left right. On sunday after the rain we just headed out and hit some random side roads and stumbled on some crazy winders. On a side note I don't know whats up with the crashes that continue to follow me.My friend with a kawasaki concours had a crash on friday and we managed to put his bike back together with a roll of duct tape, poor guy I felt so bad although the new nickname for him now is "ductman Quack Quack". Well I had a blast and will definitely do this ride again.,I will find it hard to ride in Ontario after this ride because our roads here can't compare not even close.I will be going down again in the next couple of weekends as its only 200 kms from the border and some nice twisties on the way down. Why would I go to say Muskoka when this is so close.I haven't been down to deals gap but I can't imagine anything better. So if anyone wants to go down post up or pm me and we can start arranging it.I could even do this in a long one day ride,it would be 800-1000 kms roughly.Leave early morn arrive there 9-10 am,ride all day and can get all the really good stuff in and then leave at dusk to be home by 11-12 pm.So milton riders or anyone any takers? PS this time I'll bring my own duct tape

go easy

Manny,

I'll definitely want to go on a trip like that with you! I won't be able to find the time for the next two weeks, but after that----I'd be 100% in for a 1000km one day trip! Unfortunately, it's very hard for me to find more than one day spare due to kids and family :( You have it easy now, your kids are older and more self-sufficient :) Also sorry to hear about the crash of your friend, this sucks. Was he going faster than he should have gone for his skills/bike/tiredness?

Glad to hear you had a Blast Manny. Depending on the date, I'd be up for a run down to PA. Keep me posted. Glad you're back in one piece. :)

It's about 300k from Mississauga, perhaps half slab to south of Buffalo and 16 is not bad tho 240 maybe more interesting.
Should be doable in 4 hours tho the small towns will slow you down and the depends on the border wait times.
Coudersport is a good start point as 44/144 are nearby - down to Renovo and past to 144 and then find Wycoff Run.
It might be easiest to hang a right at 120 and hit the north end of Wycoff at the bridge then go south on Wycoff for much fun.
Then pick up 144 over the mountain to Renovo but might be a bit tricky as very poor GPS coverage and a tangle of roads in the area that the maps I had were not very clear on.

From Renovo on the way north go left on 120 and pick with 144 north or go 10 miles further to Kettle Creek road - very winding tho not a "speed road" - and it intersects nicely with 144 after 15 miles or so.

Cherry Creek road is fun and you can zig zag around 144 and 44 and some associated side roads.

There area is gorgeous in the fall and rides as late as mid October are fine with decent gear.
Mind your fuel - some rural areas.
This is an idea - not sure Wycoff Run shows on here. Have fun. Have always enjoyed the area
Might be a good idea to take a printed map as there is no cell coverage and even the GPS is spotty.
This is Coudersport to Renovo - Yesterdays is good spot for food but service is slow. These are large so need to be downloaded for detail likely.

this South through Renovo to 144 but as mentioned finding Wycoff might be an issue so going west to the bridge end on 120 from Renovo and then south might be easier.
There are detailed directions for Wycoff on some of the motorcycle roads sites.

Have fun mind the deer. elk and in a few areas on the way down, bear warnings.

This was a second day ride plotted out - The Allegheny Park is pretty but not comparable to 44/144 for fun. Fairly easy to get off course as what doesn't show are the mountains which mess up sense of direction as the roads tend to follow the valleys tho the best roads go up and over.

Ok sounds cool. The overnight thing would be preferable as I'd not want to ride tired ever again. :D

PS. I'll bring duct tape. LOL

The goal is to not need the duct tape for sure but hey it worked great in a emergency situation, held buddies mirror on and fairing together to continue riding it. BTW any progress on the zx6r

Hi Orlin yeah for sure we can set it up I was thinking three weekends from now the 27th I believe and Yes he was riding beyond his abilities and I warned him beforehand and his bike is not really easy to ride in the twisties BTW saw one cop on the way down and there, we will talk soon orlin

That's the plan for sure. But I'll be sure to have what I need just in case. ;) There's only one thing that's certain and it's knowing that anything can happen at any time and we have no control over it. People dump bikes on the track all the time and that's supposed to be a controlled environment. I'm sure Bambi will beg to differ on the street. :)

PS. I'm waiting on parts for my bike. Once I get them I'll put her together as best I can then have Adrian take a look at anything else that's needed. Hopefully I have her back within the next couple weeks. Meanwhile the 250 is running very well although not as fun.

Welcome back Manny!

Thanks Mike boy do I have tales to tell about the trip you missed out epic roads and riding and man I never seen so many drunk drivers in my life I pulled a guy over to ask for directions and buddy was so drunk slurring and all and at the restaurant another guy pulls up to park behind us and almost runs us over I started a conversation with him and another bugger slurring super drunk and on the way home a guy in a pickup in front of us swerving all over the road so we passed him and at the next light he almost rear ends us whats up with these drunk americans I guess they're so depressed about their economy drinking themselves to oblivion. So when will we ride again?

Weather permitting, I'll be there.
