Massive internet outage Jul 8 2022

The story below that is good, too.

Back up, but only EDGE at home. Still haven't got 5G back.

Tekksavvy via bell at home, Koodo (telus) for cell, so been business as usual.
However koodo (telus) did have few blackouts in these past pandemic years. Longest was about 4 hours(?) And it wasn't Canada wide just Toronto area if not mistaken.

Still down. WTF. Seems like I’m the only person I know still without service.

How about your neighbors.

A couple of years my neighbor across the street was switching from some cheap 3rd party to virgin .

Thet were (going to be) without internet for a couple of days.
I strung a cat5 cable from my house over the street to their house.

Saved the the 3 kids from killing each other from nothing to do cause the internet would be out.

Neighbours all have it. Spent 1.5 hours on hold for both phone and web chat.

Issue is modem and I’m getting a new one, but unfortunately it’s Tuesday at the earliest.

But the monthly goes down from $96 to $90/month. So that’s good at least.

FML.

I thought all was good after f1 recordings, but tonight two shows stopped recording after 5/20 minutes. Loads of room on my pvr, annoying.

Yea ignite tv is choppy as hell still, the sound cuts out and screen freezes fairly often.

“We've narrowed the cause to a network system failure following a maintenance update that we did late Thursday evening, early Friday morning,” Staffieri said in a statement.

“That update caused some of the routers in our system to malfunction and that malfunction caused traffic overload. And as a result of that, the whole system just shuts down,” he continued.

Wow can't believe you are still out of commission. I bet it has nothing to do with your modem.
They should have offered way more then $6.

$6/month so I guess over the course of the new year contract...$72...wow!

I'm actually going to call them after they install the new one and ask for a few more pennies for 3 days of having to talk to my wife! /s I kid I kid...
