Major Jevco Update from John Duffy Insurance

They are currently offering non standard auto insurance in Ontario. Non standard auto insurance means that they specialize in drivers that have difficulty attaining insurance on the standard market due accidents, convictions, and insurance history.

They are an alternative to Facility insurance and as such may be able to provide drivers who are in this situation significant savings over the Facility rates.

That would be me! It's been 3yrs since I had two at fault accidents and I need car insurance (I hate ttc lol). I've been licensed with Jevco for 3yrs, would that make a difference at all?

Was that the random huge you-had-to-see-it-to-believe-it accident?
I want a lego re-enactment!

first one was a head on collision on a left turn :( sept/06
second was rear ended someone on highway during snow storm.. feb/07

Been accident free since :D
Learned my lesson, be as super safe as possible

Jevco would be a good market for your auto policy. Alternatives to Jevco would also be Pilot, Pafco or Perth, all of which are non standard companies, but also not facility as well.

I think you gave me a quote earlier in the year for $4800 with kingsway. Would it be any different with Jevco?

Not on the auto. Jevco's auto rates are Kingsway's. As I said to you earlier, time is the only thing that is going to help your premiums at this point. Once your record is blemished, only time can clear it.

I figured as much. Two more years then :(

Your website is crashing, I cannot get my quote

There doesn't seem to be a problem. We've been receiving quotes all day. I just completed a test quote and everything appeared to be in order.

Feel free to try again or call the office and we can give you a quote over the phone.

There is a problem, my rates are too high!

... but that has nothing to do with you guys and everything to do with my age :(

I did a quote on the duffy site and it said $2055 for an 09 250R. Out of curiosity, I changed the date so I wouldn't get the 1 year preferred rate and it jumped to $4800! Is that forreal?!

Well obviously that would not be correct. The system does work pretty well. It sounds like your data was not entered correctly. If you continue to have problems call the office. It will take about two minutes to verify your quote on the phone.

Im with Jevco, but am getting hammered with surcharges for my Buell xb12. Its a sport touring bike....why? State farm or Riders Choice are cheaper, but i have two traffic tickets and they wont accept me. Insurance in Ontario is totally garbage. I really hate getting raped. I lived in BC, Manitoba and NFLD, insurance is really reasonable and accessable. Whats with Ontario? I hate paying for other ppls problems.

i did a quote with john duffy for my 09 ninja 250r im currently paying $1200 for the year with riders plus i got quoted $888 for the year so im quite happy with that

On April 6, 2010, A.M. Best upgraded JEVCO’s rating to B++ (Good). This is excellent news for Jevco and their policyholders. It reflects the stability of the company going forward under the new solid ownership of Westaim.

Jevco has updated their rating manual and rates effective May 1st for new business and June 1st for renewal business. Some riders may see an increase, others may see no significant change, and still others may see a small decrease with the advent of a new age 40 rating classification.

No changs to the super sport bike list, however there is an increase to the surcharge on these bikes. No real change as Jevco had already priced themselves out of the market on the super sport bikes.

If you have a quote pending with a Jevco broker I recommend that you contact them to see how the changes may affect your quote. There is still time to arrange your insurance on the old rates as you have up to and including April 30th.
