Lowsided my bike

Take off the side panel remove the Kawasaki stickers and put BMW badges on and ride it and tell people it's supposed to be assymetrical.

lol that will add +5 hp right?

Someone posted and pmed me earlier regarding the used fairing. For 160$ is pretty good. Is there anyway to smooth out the surface and just add a decal?

Wish I had known about sliders before I low sided mine. I found out the other day after taking off the fairing to fix my turn signals that the back left fairing on mine is actually cracked and split into two pieces, one piece only holding on due to two snap-ins.

That said, any recommendations for sliders for a kawi 250?

I've heard the Shogun sliders hold up pretty well. Here's a link to a DIY install guide in case you're interested.

it might be that my steering is off center, any place to take it for inspection? I live between keele and rogers.

I'm sure if you bring that fairing to any body shop they might be able to help you. Try carboncat on this forum too. Apparently he does painting

Sent from my tablet using my paws

i am prob gonna leave it as other suggested. Smooth out the surface and add decal and call it a day.

How should i do it? sand it down?

Also i want to get it check for any other problems beside cosmetic

Did you read the post? He already check his local dealer and they wanted 600$.
Did you understand his post? It seemed like he was just estimating a figure and $300 sounds about right for the side fairing. At that point, it will be better to just buy it new, because to repair/paint it would not cost much less than $300.

Not sure if I am mechanically inclined enough to touch the engine with actual tools. If I go to a place like Kahuna with that would they install it for me? (for a fee of course)

replace it i see a big hole in it

Btw I got a similar hole when I low sided mine and I was able to pop that piece back into place so it's only really visible from up close.

I actually have the invoice of when the bike was dropped on the right side and broke the light and created a hole in the fairing. Total cost was 578.33$ including labor. It included pads and stuff like that.... i prob got ripped off at kahuna

I'll definitely grab knee protectors. Regarding the frame sliders, i read that you can't really find a place to put them.

I actually feel find, other then the soreness my knee doesn't hurt as much as yesturday.

$300 for fairing
$40 for the signal
$60 for the heat shield foam (which you can just take from the old one)

total: $400, add taxes and labour and yep you just got raped.

These prices are accurate, I paid 700 to change every single fairing on a 250 plus the left side turning signal, never bring your bike to Kahuna or Snow City

Why not change your own fairing? If you are not comfy ask some one to give you a hand

Ninja 250 fairings are relatively easy to take off (especially the side ones) compared to SS bikes. There is bound to be a Youtube video somewhere.

Plenty and really the only part to worry about it is one or two pieces on the inside of the fairing that connect the front fairing to the cowl. saw a guy bust that in a vid, so if you want to be absolutely safe take the cowl and front fairings off as one piece and THEN separate them, the rest is easy.

You need a changeable head screw driver (or drill), a small flat head screwdriver to help you with cable connector pins and those plastic nubby things tying the bottom of the fairing together, an Allen key set, a ratchet set and while you're in there some needle nose pliers to help you loosen the cables of the back signal lights because if they are setup anything like mine when I lowsided the bike the cable was so tight it yanked the connector pins off of the lights.

I don't know if it's on every model but in one of the vids I saw there were two screws for the cowl that screwed in near the tank and the guy said to absolutely never use a drill to screw in those two screws or you might perforate the tank.

Not cool dude, what's wrong with Snow City? My bike is there now! :(
Once they don't give you the bike when they promise, or charge you a **** load of money for what you are going to do we will talk.

These guys did the 1000km service on the ex's 250 and after a month the Steering nut was lose, when I called them to ask WTF, they said bring it in and we will charge you to inspect it and replace it, so I asked, was inspecting this not part of your 1000km service you charged her $200 for? no answer... I will answer for them, yes it is supposed to be part of the inspection.

So they charged for a service they didn't perform, in my books that makes them thieves.

so finally bought it in to daniel to take a look at it, simple inspection and found that something might be wrong with one of the forks.

Any idea how much fork cost used or new?

my legs are fine just couple of cuts on the knee. I was just wearing jeans, body sorts of feels stiff at the moment.

Any idea where to buy fairing for cheap? I dont want to go to kahuna and have to pay 600$ to fix it.

Any way to smooth out the scratch and throw a decal on it and call it a day?

Shouldn't cost $600. It's $300ish for a new OEM fairing. Labor is probably 20 minutes. Assuming you have no idea what you're doing, you could probably do it yourself in under an hour.

This is a ZZR 250?
I have an entire bike minus the motor I can sell for 900 bucks.

If you picked up the broken pieces, some epoxy will hold that piece back in the hole no problem.
Plastidip is pretty thin if you buy the spray can version you will have to do a ton of layers, and make sure you sand it properly of you WILL see the scratches through the spray.
