Lost my GoPro Hero 2!!!

I refuse to stick those 3M mounts on my fairings/helmet, so the suction cup was the best option.
The couple of times that I actually used my GoPro, I had the suction cup mounted on the side fairing, right on top of the "R" (gsx-r 750 k6).
That thing held on tight at highway speeds but I was still a little paranoid.

It sucks when this happens. Live and learn my friend.

That sux man, them buggers are hella expensive too!

I almost have tears in my eyes. Just bought it yesterday with my hard earned money and lost it today. I thought the suction cup would be strong enough to hold it!!!!??? Put it behind me facing backwards on the flat surface right beside passenger seat (I have a 2010 suzuki gsxr600). I tested it and it was pretty solid and then while riding, it fell off. I was headed south on Don Mills Rd and must have fallen off somewhere between Van Horne Ave and Fairview Mall dr. I parked my bike there and searched aloooooot but nothing. Happened around 6:20is pm.

don't know what to say???:(

That's too bad.
If you purchased it using VISA or similar credit card you may be able to claim under some Purchase Protection Plan. eg. for purchases using your RBC Visa, purchases are protected against "all risks of direct accidental physical loss or damage for ninety (90) days from the date of purchase"

If you apply it in a warm environment and give the adhesive time to set up, the mounts are rock solid in the cold. I wear it on my helmet on my mxz

yep, and I have a mount on my Snowboard helmet.

Might be a good idea to take some masking tape, write down your contact info and offer a reward, stick it to te back of the actual camera before putting it in the case and hope someone is honest.

Now there is a stellar idea!

totally agree with you, but my camera wan't even a day old!!! I was too confident in the suction cup.

Oh why why why???? I want to take this monitor and bang it on the wall, but f it. (sorry guys just letting out my feelings).

what's to stop everyone from doing that when in fact nothing was broken?
oh, you mean, like if you were to give the GoPro Hero2 to a buddy and then claim to RBC Visa it was "lost off the back of my motorcycle during a ride because I thought the suction cup would be strong enough to hold it" and have RBC Visa refund you the $ or purchase you a new one?

I don't know.... I think you've just uncovered a massive loop-hole! :?

sucks... to be honest hopefully someone found it and can use it...I mean what's worse your 300 dollar camera being used by some lucky person, or knowing it was smashed to pieces by a car :p

well I kinda left home a bit late today so couldn't take my time looking, up to finch I saw no traces of a GoPro cam smash or anything similar, I'll check again on my way home after work will be coming down from Steels.

If I recall, there really isn't a reliable flat surface on the rear of the gsxr to stick it to.

Did you atleast spit on the surface first? That hugely increases it's suction!

I know of people who would spit on GSXRs without any GoPro present but they might be brand whores.

always clean the area where you are going to stick it onto.... sorry to hear about the loss

funny, i was walking on don mills and one just fell into my hands ... i just figured it was raining camera's all of a sudden :p

What's worse, losing a camera or having that camera bang around bike at 120 km/h, scratching up your paint job?
GoPro's can be pretty damn expensive, but I just use a digi cam so it's no big deal if it flies off (it's bolt mounted anyways but you never know. I still hook it through my tank bag straps when it's there).
