Yeah how could i have forgotten themMitsubishi, best warranty i guess. My brother has a Mitsubishi Gallant (almost 7 years old) and it is flawless. Very good on gas and very reliable.
Lancers are a good deal too!
Although no AWD

VW Golf TDI is a decent car. The GTI will put a smile on your face no matter what.As will ALLLLLL other threads.
Suggesting the Subaru Impreza
Newer model great on gas,
Amazing cargo space
Winter = a lot safer
amazing safety ratings.
Confidence while driving
And the suby community is tight (subies come with friends lol)
Newer model is not as fun as the older model though. Theyre going more mainstream with the Imprezas
Basically best decently priced for AWD in its category
I suggest getting a test drive
Otherwise have you considered German? (golf?!)
No AWD with manual trans. Only automatic has this as an option.Yeah how could i have forgotten them

Enjoy your rideHey guys,
Thanks everyone for the input, I highly appreciate it! I ended up inking a deal today for a 2012 Hyundai Elantra Touring. The car basically for what I was looking for best (minus the genesis power) so I ordered one with the dealer today!
Thanks again!

Another vote for the Subie.. I drove the 2012 Impreza and wasn't impressed with the feel of the shifter, but loved everything else. I test drove a 2011 Impreza and loved the powertrain, just hated the interior. It is a very nice car though. I bought a 2011 Legacy 2.5i, used, for less than a new 2012 Impreza. There's decent enough power and room, style is great, still comes in manual (important for me). I don't like the drive by wire system though.

You would think Mitsubishi would sell more Lancers if they offered AWD with the manual tranny... I'm actually pretty surprised they don't offer that package.
I may be getting confused but the EVO is both yes? (completely off topic really since thats in the 50k range now)
Yup all-wheel drive for sureI'm not a huge car guy like I once was, but I would assume it would be since there is a market for that, plus they are the direct competitor for the Subaru WRX STi.
Yup all-wheel drive for sure
or as they call it "all wheel control"
Yeah, although if its not modded you have more chances of it being safe(r) than a fully modded stage 2-3 car lol.I've seen the Lancer EVOs and the Impreza STIs....I love the cars but buying either of them used would be scary as hell...we all know anyone driving these things (with few exceptions) beat the **** out of them on every corner and chance they get...kind of like older M3s...fun and awesome cars...but I'd never ever buy a used one.

Hows the Elantra after a few days of ownership? Still loving the new car smell!?
Haven't gotten it yet...as it's a 2012 model they're harder to come by. I gave the dealer my colours and just waiting for confirmation on when I can get it...honestly last night it was hard and I was considering cancelling the deal due to the loss of the Genesis (and all the fun that comes with it!) but today I'm excited for the new car. That 2.0L engine with the 4-speed auto is going to def make me miss the Genny...
What I remember hearing from the salesman was that it was coming. Keep in mind that auto far outsells manual in the NA market which is probably why Mitsubishi opted for the auto first. You would think Mitsubishi would sell more Lancers if they offered AWD with the manual tranny... You are correct. I forgot to add that little exception to Mitsubishi's line up. I've been looking for a manual + AWD vehicle for the last 2 years and the only vehicle Mitsubishi offered with this criteria was the EVO, and that's well out of my price range. Even if the Lancer was offered with this option, I would only go with it based on price. The Lancer interior is lousy. I'm very happy I found my Legacy.I may be getting confused but the EVO is both yes? (completely off topic really since thats in the 50k range now)
How's the mileage on it? If I were to buy a car based on looks alone at the moment (with my budget), it'd be an 08+ Legacy. The only thing stopping me is that I don't need a 2.5l engine or AWD. Otherwise, I'd pick the Legacy over the cooper or csx (my top 2 options at the moment).Another vote for the Subie..
