license plate frame to fit Ontario plate

I am looking for some half decent plate frame for my Yamaha XSR900 kenny Robert's anniversary edition.
No advertising and possibly custom writing if possible

Any links much appreciated!

ANY obstruction of your plate will get you a ticket. And an inspection to find anything else.
 
I searched for one for a bit and couldn't find any to fit Ontario plates. I was told that they are illegal and not available, period.

Short of trimming your plate (another no no) to fit a us sized frame not much can be done.
 
I just mean the style of frame that goes around the outside similar to what car dealers do

My bike came with one from vosmotors and although it does the trick, I don't like advertising

Yup, illegal. Technically covering any part of your plate, even the "yours to discover" is illegal. Rarely enforced on cars unless it is a ridiculous tint, more often enforced on bikes as an excuse to pull you over and have a chat.
 
I rode around with the smoke covered plate for many years. Never had a problem. Still have a few lying around somewhere.
 
If they make it illegal they should make plates last.

Mine was all bubbled up and cracked and last year I just got a new plate and put a cover in it

Apparently any plate cover is illegal. Funny because I bought one from the ministry of ontario for my car.
It doesnt even fit our plates. Bunch of clowns who issue plates, sell plate covers that dont fit AND are illegal.
 
Which location was that? I've been in a few that had a sign up explaining that they were illegal and not to be used. Canadian Tire sells them for cars but not motorcycles, I recall they did have motorcycle frames at one point but they didn't even fit Ontario plates according to the reviews on their website.

I was at GP Bikes a while back and got excited when I saw a bunch on the wall then read the sign that they don't fit our plates lol. What's the point of selling them then?

Just because you can buy something, doesn't mean it's legal. You can buy lights at PA that will make your vehicle look like a fire truck. Not a great idea. Just sayin.

Agreed, a lot of the accessories sold are labeled "off road use only" or "check your local laws".

I wasn't curious about why they were selling it, but why they would sell something that doesn't fit our plates.

Probably because they didnt pay attention when they ordered the covers and they are now tryin to get rid of them and recoup some of their money.
 
I have a bunch that I will give you, They have advertising if you want to paint over them.

But why do you want a cover??????

As soon as some dealer put one on my bike off it came.
