I don't know enough about baseball to know for sure. In a football or hockey game if the ref blows their whistle the play is dead. It doesn't matter if the ref was wrong... when the whistle is blown the play is dead no matter what.

I guess baseball is different? The ump waving his hands, clearly calling for time, did not automatically kill the play? Maybe a baseball expert can comment...

anybody planning to go to the next few games and tossing beer cans on the field, the holding cells for "out of control" fans are right behind center field at ground level and are not considered public space, there are no security cameras down there, just sayin.....
