Government jobs are awesome, lax and great pay. Makes sense that there is alot of competition. Don't know how you could get a leg up other than contacting hiring manager directly.

I agree it CAN be the case for low-middle management positions. However, the pay and benefits are quite mediocre for senior positions compared to private-sector counterparts.

Yes, but most private sector senior management are skilled, competent, do real work and don't reek of shame. I've seen all the glory of that is called "Government employee" and it's not for the competent or those that want self fulfillment.

Not debating nor disagreeing with that. We were just talking about pay.

Speaking of government jobs... Here is where you can find current positions at the City. If that link does not work, then you can click this one and follow the steps under "Current Opportunities".

These jobs are great if you could get one, they are highly competitive and they will test you! If you get an interview make sure you know your sh.. Great pay and benefits, even better than federal, I just finished an Internship there. Unfortunately Ontario still has not recovered to a point where there are more jobs than people who want jobs or a decent balance, placing job hunters at a disadvantage as employers can pick and choose at their leisure. I have since moved to Edmonton for a job in my field with a respected company, doing what I always wanted to do. Bonus is when I exchanged my Drivers Licence they gave me a Full M from an M2 and a Full Class Drivers Licence excluding Air Brakes from a D :D.

I get recruiter solicitations pretty frequently for Business/Systems Analyst positions. If anyone's in that field shoot me a PM and I'll forward the recruiter's email.

We are looking for general helpers at our tool and die shop. We are a large Magna company. Positions could lead to a apprenticeship. Pm me for contact info
