What's the difference between v2 and v3?

Clamp is 1 piece (centre piece and two bar clamps machined from one piece of aluminum) instead of 3 (bar clamps and centre plate were separate, screws that tightened the clamps also held the clamps to the centre plate). I believe all the 2012+ sportbars are made in the V3 style (but I don't know if they call them V3).

Mine just got delivered .. 2012
Clamp is 2 pieces plus 2xbars
How can it be two pieces? It's gotta be either one or three...

It should just be the two bars and the centre piece. It used to be that the flat part was separate from the two parts that clamp around the bars but they got a better machine so they could simplify the design (through a more complex machining process). They are machined in house at a Ducati Omaha, as far as I am aware.

I suppose there could be a spacer piece or something in the new design that goes underneath... or if you ordered a riser it would be a spacer.

So do the new ones just come with a spacer or did you order it extra?

I'm also curious to see pics of what you got.

just put an order in for my 08! Hopefully all goes smooth on the install, was the overall consensus then that flipping the banjo bolt isnt necessary if you fit them properly? I dont want to set them all up just to have to disassemble and flip the bolt to do it all again :p

Thanks guys

You don't have to disassemble to flip the banjo bolt. You just flip the banjo bolt, bleed the brakes, and you're done.

If you snip the bracket that holds the brake line behind the fairing you dont have to do nothing with the banjo. Basically snipping it allows the brake lone to get more loose and flexible so it does not bend or pinch when you turn the bars

Just got back from my first ride w/ the new bars. My first impression is that they feel much more comfortable than the stock. Like most people have posted.. Less effort/input is need to get the bike turned.. The new position gives more clearance over ur tank makes it easier to tuck .. Wind issues have improved..
Installing them was pretty easy with some help..flipped the banjo, bled the brakes and no clearance issues..
Had some challenges putting the grip on the throttle side .. But aside from that so far so good.

I read on another forum about the heavy strain on the clutch cable with the new position on the bars.
I re-routed the cable to relieve it
