Kahuna's add 7-11-2013

I ride a 250r and I think it was funny. IMO lol

:lmao: That's hilarious.

To everyone who took offense what happened to this world? Why can't people take a silly joke, laugh and move on? Im disappointed in all of you...
Whoever complained about that ad should sell their bike and start a stamp collection...seriously.

It was just distasteful and tactless - as a marketing campaign. It was never meant to be a joke to gain laughs, it was meant to sell bikes.

But, it is likely getting more laughs than it is selling bikes, so cheers to that :p

leaves a bad taste in the mouth, that ad...

Seriously, you purchase a brand new lower CC bike from them a month ago and now you see this from them???

To all those guys who are saying," have a laugh at it" ...guess you all started on SS ,so may be you don't get to feel it.

Lucky you!

My self esteem was already destroyed by having no money and a series of female bosses smashing their way through the glass ceiling into the glass ghetto like movie monsters bursting through the floor.

What happens however if you are a girl and there is another girl on a bigger bike? Do you start boom-chicka-pow-pow music on the I-saw-you-thread? Or do you go home and eat a tub of icecream?

It's funny because women are the fastest growing segment of the market in mc worldwide and this ad essentially says they're ok with leaving this segment out of their business plans.

To me what this add did was confirm the poor business ethics and lack of respect and care for customers they have.

I have never owned a 250/300 but telling a guy "stop being a pussy and don't be laugh at by girls with a bigger bike" is just immature, and a dirty tactic that shows they are not only desperate but have no vision for their business. Add to their extremely poor service department and their complete lack of customer service when it comes to answering the phones, booking appointments and conducting proper work and you know the place is run by monkeys.

Edit: to Sunspark.. they have no business plan it seems

I've heard Kawi Canada is involved and taking action. As a lot of us mentioned no corporation wants to be represented as poorly as they have been.

Good on them for this.

Even Kawi's own dealer thinks 250's are gay :lmao:

lmao that ad is hilarious.I'm buying my next bike from kahuna

Yeah good on Kawi...I'd be ****** if my vendor was making fun of a large portion of their target demographic.

It's pretty stereotypical, I have a friend who would be pissseddd if he saw that. And I don't find it that bad because I did start on a SS, but I still find it tasteless. You can be sure a lot of 250 riders will have a bad taste in their mouth when Kahuna gets brought up after seeing that ad.

Now we just wait and see if they're still a Kawi dealer this time next year

I'm not worried because where I live everyone rides a Harley bagger while I'm on a Suzuki 250.

I think however for derp punishment, Kawi must require Kahuna to dress up in women's clothing (heels and all) until they sell a Kawi to a Harley pirate.

If by chance you got offended by the ad just realize that this was not a personal attack towards you. Consider the upgrade program at Kahuna.

I didnt realize how many people on here had such fragile egos

Christ. You're either hard as nails or a little sissy.

It is possible to have an opinion without being personally offended or entirely indifferent. It was a crappy ad, as far as ads go. There are so many better reasons to own a bike (small displacement, SS, or otherwise), the least of which to feel less emasculated.

It was a poorly worded ad. Period. I would imagine a large portion of what they sell are the smaller cc bikes. That said I wouldn't buy anything from Kahuna anyways. Nothing to see here. Move along people.

What's wrong with discussing marketing practices? My bike is bigger than a 636 anyway, their ad is still in bad taste and as a dealer it was questionable
