i can change, i could just play solitaire or pong from 9-5 and collect my pay cheque like the rest...i like games. You couldn't do it. You would kill people for being obstinate fools with no drive to get anything done.
I worked for a good company in a bad department for a while. An hour of focused work a day and you were an overachiever. I read every factory manual for every piece of equipment that company made in the past 50 years in the first two months while at work. I would go home and sleep or play video games for 45 minutes at lunch because a one hour lunch was mandatory and oh so boring. I think I only lasted three months. I couldn't deal with the boredom any more.i can change, i could just play solitaire or pong from 9-5 and collect my pay cheque like the rest...i like games.
And there would be no repercussions for doing that either...i can change, i could just play solitaire or pong from 9-5 and collect my pay cheque like the rest...i like games.
Probably pointless when 80% of people coming into the country are excempt from quarantine anyway. Sorry but people crossing the border to work and come home again shouldn't be allowed to when there is a pandemic. The useless tit is now considering hotels for returning travellers. If he had implemented them six months ago, do you know what what have been stopped? The two more virulent variants raging through the country. What a dbag. Still just talking while taking as little action as conceivably possible.

True, but you can cause a measurable decrease in that travel. By making pleasure travel untenable, that both eliminates a ton of border crossing by entitled aholes and eliminates a large number of pilot trips out and back. Hell, for variants that popped up in UK and SA, you can probably easily cut people coming from those destinations by an order of magnitude or two (or maybe even three). US/Canada is obviously a different story as there are many many truck drivers crossing daily. To be fair, it would come in anyways, it probably would have just taken longer. People forget the amount of trade that happens across our border every day, and it's physically impossible to stop that trade.
Sure, you could cut off all the other travel, but you're never going to stop the commercial trade, and one of those drivers coming back and forth would probably eventually (likely unknowingly) bring it across. That's just reality.

NoCanadians who travel outside Canada could be stranded abroad, Trudeau warns
The government has had travel advisories warning against any non-essential travel since the beginning of the pandemic, but some Canadians have not heeded that callnationalpost.com
is he getting a clue?!
I'm betting the vast majority of truck drivers are pretty responsible and aware of how to keep as safe as possible while on the job. And yes, they are truly essential! It's the random tourists and business people coming and going that could and should just be shut down. Why is any of that essential? What business can't be done virtually for the next few months? Leisure travel is just self indulgence. Yes; there's a few cases of a dying relative that someone must see one last time. Make an exception based on clear documentation that the situation is really that dire.True, but you can cause a measurable decrease in that travel. If I was going to see my dying parent, I would gladly accept the required hotel stay upon my return. If your trip isnt worth a two week hard lockdown upon return, it was obviously non-essential. If you are talking about the person dying being in canada, I am ok with an exemption process (maybe shuttle from hotel to relative and back, no alternate locations allowed under threat of hard lockdown and/or immediate deportation).I'm betting the vast majority of truck drivers are pretty responsible and aware of how to keep as safe as possible while on the job.
