Just had my motorcycle stolen from my driveway. Everyone watch your bikes

Yup, I often park my bike on the road outside my gym and I can keep an eye on it while I'm on the treadmill. Saturday morning some guy in a minivan pulled up in front of it, got out and started taking pictures. I ran out, all covered in sweat and said "whats up". Turned out he was just a fan of the bike and asked me a few questions about riding in Toronto. I still took a note of his licence plate number!

Given your response time and the reality of the visual contact between you and your bike, the thief would mark the bike as 'not steal-able'.

Police (or perhaps we) should set traps, and hunt these ****s down.

Park a few 1199 in shady areas, and just wait.. how hard is that for the cops ?

Cops don't give a **** :( I say lets put some bait bikes out and get set up with some Tac Fours and we'll thin the heard a little.

I think it could all come to an end, especially if it made it big in the news.

Similar case in my home city: After the increase of kidnapping of taxicabs with drivers, police went undercover as the drivers with tailing backup, and most of the people they caught turned out to be from the same organized crime crew. And it did all stop.

Sorry for sounding ignorant people I was at work at 5:23am. lol.

Maybe I'm making too many assumptions. My impression after reading the post was you went inside for a bit during daylight came back and you're bike was gone. After re-reading the post it seems as though this happened overnight and you probably don't have a garage and just left it in the driveway/street parking or w.e.

Hope you get it back soon or insurance takes care of it asap.

because bikes never get stolen during the day... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D96QM-lzLM8&feature=related

but kidnapping people is something the police look at as important... stealing motorcycles, they say call your insurance company...

The sad part is the police don't really seem to care. Much like the Ragu situation, the public starting to take matters into their own hands will likely "guilt" them into caring, should not come to this, more importantly it should not have to come to this.

ouch, sorry to hear that, hope insurance will get you fully covered...what area are you in?
