Just got a speeding ticket while passing a slow car....really?

I got a speeding ticket for passing another car and a cop saw me going 118km/h. He lowered it to 109km/h which then makes its a minor ticket so I will pay it but I'm still ****** off. Why the **** do you give ticket to somebody passing another car? When you pass a car aren't you supposed to do it fast and safely? I want to know your thought about it. Now I'm stuck going no more than 10km/h over the speed limit for the next 36 months, it sucks!

#1: You never go over the posted speed limit to pass a vehicle or therefore you are speeding and being unsafe.
#2: You got it lowered, be happy.
#3: You just complained that you can't speed more then 10km over the limit now; You clearly haven't learned the lesson from receiving your ticket.
#4: The ticket is 125 dollars, suck it up. I personally would love you to fight a ticket that has already been dropped. You received the ticket due to your ignorance to the rules of the road. In this case that would be the posted speed limit. If it says 80km, you can only pass at 80km. If buddy in front of you is going 75km, enjoy the fuel savings from not hammering the accelerator and then getting a ticket for your idiotic behavior.
#5: People like you scare me, the absolute lack of intelligence befuddles me. If you didn't realize why you got the ticket, or didn't think you "Deserved It" (which you did), then why not ask the officer? He would tell you the same as I have, without making you feel like an absolute moron for your utter lack of common sense.
#6: Stay away from me on the roads, you're that guy who sits on my *** because I'm doing 82 in an 80. Wait until you get brake checked and ram your windshield into my tow hitch and have to buy me a new one! ;)

Tough luck and bad timing.
Did u deserve the ticket? Does it suck? Yes
But you can also fight it. There is case presidents set for the same thing. I would get your free consultation from a good pa
Arlegel and see what they say. People have beet stunt charge in the same way. Guy above is just a tight *****

He lowered it to 109km/h which then makes its a minor ticket and my insurance won't increase* so I will pay it .

Any speeding ticket will go on your abstract and there is a very good chance it will effect your insurance.

That one time free ticket thing is odd. never heard of it before. Are you sure it's not a one time free accident/claim?

Lol, I will pay it and I never intended to fight it, I now the law and I now you can't go 1kmh over for passing, but this is the theory. I just want people thought, you have your and I respect it.

#1: How can going 10 over be unsafe? 90km/h is the speed limits in some province with much crappier road there is even places where its 100km/h, wow, it must be so unsafe!
#2: I'm happy, its considered a minor conviction.
#3: If you follow the speed limit you get tailgated, how is it safe to piss off people on the road and jump on the brake?
#4: I'm not fighting it, its already paid by now, well, almost, I still need to post the letter.
#5: You never saw me driving therefore you don't know if I'm safe or not. I've seen people following the speed limit being the worst driver ever!
#6: I don't tailgate, you're supposed to stay 2 seconds away from the guy in front of you. You need that time to react when **** hit the fan.
Also, you can jump on your brake for fun but people now have dash cam in their car and you can get charged for braking in their face for fun.
Some dash cam also record your speed by a GPS and G forces.

EDIT: I was answering to the first guy :p

Edit2: To slowbird, I was wrong, I just check its a light increase, I'm turning 25 so I might pay the same rate...I hope.

The speed limit on public roads, well.. most people can barely handle that in the first place..

There are tracks and private property that you can do any speed you want on.

I'm not a tight ***, just not an idiot. As for the brake checking, very immature. A smart *** comment that was more so meant to be a joke.

If everyone was a great driver (not saying you aren't), then we could have a posted limit of 200 on the 401

I'd be scare going 200 on anything else than a race track.

Oh and another thing about you bringing up dash cams and brake checking, you can put your brakes on fully for any what reason you want. The moment you hit the person you are at fault. Just don't say you jammed on the brakes to cause an accident. Use the momma and baby racoon family story!

Read the HTA. Your dash cam can't prove what dangers are in front of MY vehicle. Just some food for thought lol.

Anyways, safe driving and keep the speed down lol! Saves gas, money in tickets and lives.

I think we have another turbo dish. Location Brooklin, maybe just another do-gooder from Toronto who moved to Durham recently. God I hate urban sprawl.

Funny you mention safe driving. Then threaten to use brake checking to possibly injure or kill a fellow M/C'er. Great to have you on this forum.

This is the same guy who posted this in another thread:

I do have a ticket that was 2 points (No Seatbelt). Such a silly ticket!

Yes, we were all taught in days gone by that you made passes as quickly as possible, in safety, to minimize the danger to ourselves and others while doing so. Unfortunately while it was even taught in driving schools it has never been legal, as the posted speed limit is the fastest legal speed permitted. There was once a time when such things were given a pass because they made sense, but no longer.

Firstly, I suggest that you read this link before posting any further comments in this sub-forum: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum/showthread.php?126966-Things-to-assume-when-posting-here

Secondly, brake checking is an offence under HTA 172 that will see you lose your vehicle and license, for a week, followed by a thousand dollar hit for storage fees and significant damage in court. Possible even jail time, given the implication that the other person would be injured. That's assuming that such driving wasn't charged as either "operation without due care and attention" (Provincial Offences Act) or "dangerous operation of a vehicle causing injury" (Criminal Code of Canada; possible 10 years in prison).

lol, just lol.

This is the same guy who posted this in another thread:

Yeah, I think MT is just ignorant to the rules of the road. Karma's a *****. And imagine just 20 posts and he is already on my ignore list:lmao:

I never knew police would go after someone who speeds up a bit to pass, so long as it was clearly for a pass and they slowed back down to the limit once the pass is complete. I guess this is partially why so many times you have someone going 90 in a 100, and when a car pulls out to pass it takes them a good 2 minutes to do so. Me, I'll always try to complete a pass as quickly as I safely can...I just hope a cruiser isn't around given the info in this thread.

One of the appeals with respect to HTA 172 charges was about a woman who was driving on Hwy7 up around Madoc and pulled out to pass a transport that sped up when she was alongside, with an oncoming car ahead. She had to hit something like 140 to get around safely. She got nailed by OPP for it.

Anything I said was in honest opinion, no need to bash. All I was stating was the obvious, or at least what I thought to be obvious. I was clearly too stern with what I said. Yes, I received a seat belt ticket pulling out of a gas station. What part of that is unsafe for others? This is a rhetorical question. As for the brake checking, it was a joke!

To the MOD: Read the sub-forum Rules, will be sticking to them.

No question is a bad question. Never tried to rub anyone the wrong way, especially being "New to the Forum". That clearly happened, what's done is done.

Cheers.
