Literally went down my rural road with my trailer last week and a cyclist pulling a carriage in the back with two kids in it and she’s in the middle of the lane. I slowed to 55 (it was an 80 zone) and passed by her in the oncoming lane to which she still stayed in the middle of the lane and as I passed she still yelled at me to slow down. Are you effin kidding me?
I might be wrong on this, but my neighbour cop told me you can't ride in a bicycle trailer on the road, only on closed courses, private property and trails.Literally went down my rural road with my trailer last week and a cyclist pulling a carriage in the back with two kids in it and she’s in the middle of the lane. Interesting. Can't find conclusive information on that one. They could get you with "No person riding or operating a bicycle designed for carrying one person only shall carry any other person thereon.". From ontario.ca/page/bicycle-safety "Children are required to wear an approved bicycle helmet when riding in a child carrier or a bicycle trailer.". So children are allowed to ride in a trailer but that doesn't specifically reference whether this comment applies to roads and trails.I might be wrong on this, but my neighbour cop told me you can't ride in a bicycle trailer on the road, only on closed courses, private property and trails.
Like farm kids riding hay wagons, it's not enforced, but apparently follows the same rules as any trailer on the road.
