JohnnyP636 - ANOTHER A+ (lots of pictures)

His comment is half truth, but it depends on the color...flat colors tend to hold dirt more then glossy colors...However he is right when it comes to high gloss colors or colors with a very smooth finish...The dirt does not stick onto them as hard as it does to the plain black or other finishes that come on OEM motorcycle rims...Also the powder likes to fill little crevices more then the OEM paint did, which again prevents dirt from sticking to areas they would before coating...

This. Should I keep my gsxr next year my white wheels are going for powder coating. I clean them and 10 km later they're gross again.

what do you expect you have white wheels, its my favorite all time color for wheels also but obviously dirt shows the most on white so they require lots of cleaning...Brake dust alone, and chain fling off will make them look dirty

Choose another color, or if you must have white then you have to accept the fact they require lots of cleaning...

I can coat your wheels dirt colored then you will never have to clean them, they will always look the same

I just powder coated my new bike all white, frame, swing arm, engine covers, etc etc...So I know what kind of a pain in the *** white is to keep clean...

lol

Thanks again for the gold dude, stuff holding up well so far 'cept for one of the rearset heel guards. Some of the coating got scratched off =(

Do you do anodizing by the way? I'm wondering if that's what I should try next time....

I know they're a ***** to keep clean but I mean powdercoating would be better than the factory bumpy paint. Literally drive from here to the dealer (25 mins tops) and they're off white :D

Sometimes I have problems with heel guards because people wear boots with metal or plastic that scratches the coating. I wear running shoes so I've never had that problem on my bikes. Your heel guards are plate alininum so it's possible they could be anodized. If it really bothers you pop it off and we can re coat it when you want.

All I can say is that my rearsets are holding up well after the anodizing.

Little harder surface on the anodizing vs powder, but it still happens. Powder is stronger then paint but if you rub the right material against it enough times it will start to damage its finish....My friend has boots with metal plates on the sides, he ate through the anodize and is actually gouging away at the aluminum

I'll wait till I mess everything up (hopefully due to wear and use, not a crash). A friend helped me change my rear tire..and now there's a small scratch mark where the powder coat came off  useless tire irons!

But yes, the way I position my foot for the rear brake causes the heel to scratch against the guard, and I believe there is a piece of metal around that area on my boot.

I use irons, and I obviously cant scratch your rims when I do them... So I also use rim protectors...If your going to use irons you should invest in some rim protectors...

Johnny, have you ever received my PMs?

Yes I apologize I have been a little busy setting up the new powder coat shop, our oven came on Thurs and it was a serious mission to unload it. And I wanted to get you a quote before I responded to your question. Problem is my Kawi supplier is closed on Mondays, so I would have to wait till tomorrow to give you a price on that part you asked about. If you are still interested I will get the price and availability of it tomorrow

Loving the Brembo master man, really worth the money, not sure why I haven't done it sooner.
Don't hate me but I might switch back to the Evotech reservoir instead of the 15cc Brembo reservoir, unless it grows on me.

At least coat the ladybird mount black, too bling for your bike at the moment. When the new shop is open you can pass by and hang out while we coat it quick

As for the brembo that's why I don't leave home without one for 10 years now

When is the grand opening?

Open to public under regular hours probably not for another month. We should be operational by next week, as our powder spray booth was just picked up yesterday and should be delivered today or Tomorrow...

So we will be in operation in about a week, just not 100% open yet, due to having to still finish up the office/showroom and the rest of the shop...

You have VIP access so you can come check it out anytime...lol

Bump for Johnny!
I dropped my bike at Johnny's looking like this:

Aside from the bodywork, Johnny helped me put it back together for next to nothing...

Saved me some money by bending back my Vortex rearset brake lever and main bracket, fixed my Ohlins damper and he also took a Brembo bleeder screw from his own bike so I can do Mosport in time.
Installed a Yoyodyne stay and Woodcraft clip ons, had to mess around with it a little just to make sure everything clears.
I was in a pinch and he had no problem wiring a starter/kill switch from a different model RR so I can get through my track day.

Will be back with the MotionPro Revolver kit and a new battery soon.
Thanks again for all the help dude!

Now I see why you bought the RR, going down on the right side with a brand new Akro exhaust suck! Oh well now they are baptized and true track bikes, time to leave em like this

My rearset parts were in stock, so I should have them in about a week, just in time for another kick *** day at the next track we decide to try...

LOL... I can do that, can you!? haha
By the way, there's some damage to my exhaust from the crash, so don't feel left out!

Yeah I should just leave it, its just cosmetic, but I hate being reminded of my mistakes so I always like to get rid of rashed parts asap lol

Now my next problem I contacted Attack rearset parts and started talking about $800 triple clamps....LOL They have them now, so obviously I have to have them
