I had a low speed low side in mid/late September. First corner out of my house, cold tires + cold pavement, is no fun.
Any how here are some pictures of the damage after my "crash" if you want to call it that.
Scratched front fairing, broken left mirror, scuffed/broken ASV C5 lever (covered under warranty), mangled bar end...
A new mirror, upper fairing, fuel tank/tank fairing, as well as the left tail fairing and centre piece are now in need.
Frame slider did the job, as I watched my bike slide down the street for a good 20 FT or so.
The next day, I made a trip to Snowcity Cycle and ordered $2500 worth of OEM parts.
-New fuel tank
-Tank fairing
-Mirror
-Left tail piece
-Centre tail piece
-Front fairing.
-Some miscellaneous odds and ends (push pins, rubber bushings, etc.)
My main go-to-guy, is JohnnyP...
I contacted him and shortly after he came to my house and picked up my bike...
The next day it looked like this:
While my bike was there and I figured that my season was pretty much a wrap, I decided to have a few things anodized and powder coated in black to match the rest of the bike.
Shortly after, my bike looked like this:
Here's a list of the things that were to be anodized/powder coated:
Forks/fork bottoms
Calipers
Kickstand
Lower and top triple
Clip ons
Chain adjuster blocks/castle nut
Miscellaneous bolts
Rear shock spring
Water pump cover
Frame slider brackets
New rear pegs
Fairings stay
I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff, but that's the majority of the parts!
And then, my bike looked like this...
It hurt a little to see my bike in pieces and in boxes, but I figured I had the right guy doing the job so I wasn't worried much!
Here are the parts that were anodized...
The only things I didn't end up using from this batch were the fork caps, felt like it would be too black on black, so I got a new set of OEM ones from Snowcity.
Some of the powder goodness:
And so it begins, putting the bike back together...
The lower triple in action:
Frame slider bracket, bolts and water pump cover:
Amazing job matching the engine casing...
Rearsets after being re-anodized:
New tail, re-anodized rearsets, powder coated kickstand and more action of the water pump cover and frame slider bracket.
He also did the shift knuckle and the part attached to the clutch cable... not sure of the name.
Rear caliper, axle tip/Yoshimura block adjuster:
Yoshimura block adjuster re-anodized, castle nut and even the cotter pin were powder coated.
To be continued...
