he's the moonstar
They dont look bad but it doesnt come 6 speed so its off my list. Im a Porsche fanatic. Bring the GTR's![]()
I wasn't talking modded. Anyone can mod any car and in that case you could hand a gtr its ***. I've seen a ford gt do the standing faster than that. There's a 997 that evolution owned that went 234 mph too. Big deal. Look at the guy that twin turbo's lambos. Stock car vs stock car.... yes impressive it's a 6 but it's not mind bending. Maybe if the car didn't look like a done up g coupe it might be more appealing.
Porsche is king. The Nissan is a paddle shifting pussy car same goes with the new Ferrari's these days. Pathetic. Wheres the real cars?
Uh, ya might want to look up the 2014 GT3's specs.

"Manual" (clutch) shift is definately "fun", but alas is outdated. If you can afford the cars at the top, and you want to be fast....."manu-matic" is way to go. If you look at the shift spec. times (milliseconds) and repeatability you can't beat the computer, it's matching engine RPM, "clutching" and syncing shift faster than any human can press clutch in. All the roadtests confirm...."manumatic" is faster.
Stick is still fun...
Hi everyone, new to the forum...Saw this thread by accident and thought I could contribute...I can tell you that bikes - for the most part - still rule the streets. An older stock GTR cannot beat a new 600. A 2012-2014 GTR would likely hold (2012) or maybe slightly pull on (2013-2014) a new 600 as the new GTR's are about equivalent to an aftermarket tune and exhaust set up. Any GTR with a custom tune and full exhaust (Switzer P600) will give a 600 rider and even some 750's a good go (if the GTR adds injectors, intakes and downpipes). The real jump happens at the Switzer P800 level where upgraded turbos come into play. A P800 will pull on a 750 (the P800 traps about 137 MPH on average), but a new litre bike will still beat that setup despite what some of the videos show (those were Switzer R850's on race fuel which trap about 141 MPH). Once you get into larger upgraded turbos - GT3071R's and above - and fully built forged engines like the Switzer R1K and R1K-X - and these builds will pull on most litre bikes on pump gas and beat even ZX-14R level bikes when on race fuel. The R1K-X (a GT35R setup) on pump gas is equivalent to an R1K on race fuel so - although with slightly more lag - that setup will beat almost any stock bike on the street on pump and on race fuel even highly modified bikes. R1K-X's trap about 155 MPH on pump and 165-170 MPH on race fuel. That said - in order to do so - the R1K-X build is about an additional 90K so that is a lot of coin to beat even a highly modified bike. I hope that helps everyone - be safe out there!
Well - I checked a 2003 R1 and the internets say 10.8 1/4 ET which is still faster or as fast (2014) than any stock GTR so it really depends on your trap speed which I didn't see. I usually use trap speed versus ET for a roll race as in my experience, it best denotes the bikes/cars raw power (up to your limiter). Many of my friends ride with varying skill levels when it comes to 1/4 mile riding, but on a roll, if they trap 131 MPH (for example) - they are usually quite close to a 131 MPH trapping car. Have you ever run your bike at the drag? The key here is newer 600 and litre bikes. My bike is an R1 but its 10 years old, so even a stock gtr will catch up to me relatively fast.
As far as modding GTR's goes - this has been my experience as well. At least not for long...NOBODY buys a GTR and keeps it stock. It is one of the easiest cars to mod and gain massive power so yeah, if you run into one on the street (especially on the highway) it will leave you in the dust regardless of what you are riding. The only chance to beat one is from a stop and that's only until he catches you and passes you.

Hmmm. I would say if you took the GTR out of the hole and 4-5 seconds later he catches and passes you - that was indeed a modified GTR. The GTR's launch is responsible for much of its good 1/4 mile time. When my car was at the P600 level I would 1/4 10.8 at 130 MPH with a good launch and traction and 11.3-5 at 127 MPH without a launch (my car is a 2010). So - that is alot of ground for the 4000 lb GTR to make up. Have you ever dragged your bike?Off the line I got the gtr no problem, but within 4 or 5 secs he has caught up to me and then is well into the future lol
When the 2015 Nismo GT-R arrives in dealer showrooms, look for the car to carry a sticker price of about $150,000.
Ya...I'm not too certain about that...there are rumours the NISMO and MY2015 GTR are getting new 7 speed transmissions - so without knowing more about its capabilities I guess its possible. That said, my car is capable of a 2.4 0-60 but I am running 1000 crank HP on pump gas. The only GTR I have heard of near 2 second flat 0-60's was the AMS Alpha Omega (at 1.79 seconds) and other 1500+ HP cars.
The transmission issue was really a 2009 thing. There was a weak circlip and a poorly tuned launch control that caused wheel hop. They improved the circlip (although that is still one of the first things one does to beef up their transmissions aftermarket even further on bigger builds) and reduced the LC to 2200 RPM's from 4500 in 2010 (my year) and then up'd it again to 3300 in 2011 and finally back to over 4000 in 2012. It was the programming that really changed however with a much less aggressive power curve that actually improved traction and 0-60 times.I wonder how many times you'll get to do that before you're picking your transmission parts up off the road
I'll also believe that price when I see it.
