Unfortunately we are never going to get that information made public

Well.. undisputable that millions died of covid BEFORE the vax

I'd trust peer reviewed science on vaccine safety and efficacy tests compared to a bunch of keyboard warriors....

you always have horse vaccine as an option. I read it on the internet.....

Science is not infallible or incorruptible unfortunately. Tobacco and Big oil had tons of scientists and doctors doing studies for decades and coming to the conclusion their products were safe and even good for your health. Big Pharma has a long track record of falsifying data and bribing health officials/doctors/scientists.

Whether the vaccines are safe or not, I feel we won't really know for a while.

Little evidence of that given your naive question.
I live with a medical practictioner and researcher so have a fairly good grasp of the situation.

Science at the very least has a self correcting process called peer review offering some buffer to malfeasance.
Until we have a cure for human nature venality will still cloud conclusions.....

Exxon KNEW the score on AGW 50 years ago ....decided not to act on the knowledge and in fact suppress the clear evidence, paying people to do so. That's not a flaw of science but of corporate governance and oversight.
It took a board revolt by the Rockefeller family to convince them to change course.

That's true. The vaccines were developed in record time without enough long term effect study.

I received two injections at the beginning, and then on the third, my first booster, the vaccine triggered a dormant condition germaine to my DNA that caused polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR). PMR manifests as full body pain; really bad news. I'm still suffering from that though much less so now and will be for maybe a year or two. I can't take antibiotics because they cause flareups. Who could have predicted this???

Associates partner is slowly recovering from long covid that turned an active girl into wheelchair bound invalid...that from covid not from vaccination ...the damn virus is so random in some ways as to how it impacts individuals,

As with all technology, vaccination it is a matter of weighing risk reward.
The vaccines were not hatched on short notice but rather were based on decades of previous work on corona viruses.
Once the genome was released, the vaccine was designed within 24 hours and went through human trails in record time.....all of which they passed for safety and efficacy and have saved millions of lives

That said

ALL drugs have side effects...
Prof Peter Rothwell, lead author from the University of Oxford said aspirin was causing around 20,000 bleeds annually - and causing at least 3,000 deaths

I'm waiting on my next booster which I think will be covalent and offer wider protection against severe illness.

There are long term studies on all sorts of drugs and lifestyle choices and few without controversy ....coffee comes to mind tho balance of studies seem to indicate a positive health gain. :coffee:
 
RIP LMP. Way too young but she lived a hard life as well.

My understanding is both her father, Elvis, died of a heart attack (and he partied hard for a long time), and his mother also died fairly young from a heart attack.

Genetics. Can't cheat them.

My FIL died of a heart attack years ago at 52. His father, heart attack at 40. His 2 brothers, heart attacks at mid-40s and mid-50s.

There's one brother left out of the 4.
 
Eh, I’ll say it again. 13.21 BILLION doses delivered globally of COVID-19 vaccines. If there was a serious issue with the vaccines we would be facing an emergency of hospital admitted vaccine injured not just here but worldwide. That simply isn’t happening. The vaccines have undergone rigorous evaluation and are likely the most studied and observed vaccines in history. They are as safe as any other vaccine.

Risk of cardiological issues from COVID infection is multiple times that of any vaccine. COVID causes inflammatory heart issues along with a whole host of other potential nasty side effects.
 
One of the current vax issues is that the sellers are doing the studies, which muddies the ethics. We need to have the raw data dispersed to independent researchers to peer review, which hasn't happened yet.

We also need some independent studies into the recent rash of heart issues. Some cardiologists have stated what they think it is, but peer reviewed studies would be better.

Or is the death rate from heart problems still normal now, and people are reading things into it?

My daughter has a friend that had a heart attack caused by own her cat pouncing on her as she was laying in bed. The theory is it was one of those once in a billion shots where a thump at a certain point / angle/ strength triggers a reaction in your heart rhythm. Is the Hamlin case similar?

Odds of it happening again?? Daughter's friend is OK.

Damar Hamlin sounds like a decent guy so hopefully he will be OK.
