Jeep Interested GTAM'ers

There are definitely compromises with the wranglers but it's such a fun vechicle it's worth it.

Sweetonion I am actually looking in to a tj as a second/winter car for my self. Something I can work on. Tbh

To clarify I Google searched the jk has 70 liters before the reserve light comes on. So I get 450km for 70 liters. Not bad for a box on wheels with heavy mud tires

I ain't complaining about their fuel economy just curious how much my tires uses over stock.

Yea, I remember a guy on a 250 limited calling me a pussy as I went by while he was stuck in mud :)
Oh wait, just a second.. I think we are reading it wrong. I think maybe he is talking **** since he drives a big chugger V8 Chevy Avalanche, and he is calling us pussies. :)

Yeah my tires are only 235's on 15's so way smaller. That's gotta be hurting you a fair bit, and also more air resistance I'm sure.

Also working on this thing is super easy and fun it seems. The worst thing I guess is seized bolts, which I haven't dealt with myself yet. Service departments have, though.. had to torch some, cut and tap another one I think my father in law told me.

Jacking it up is super easy. If you can find a good one I say go for it... seems fun to learn on.

So far I've done these 2 things this year:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viPRceG7q5s - fixed the fan blower to work in all 4 positions again

http://www.wranglerforum.com/f282/the-famous-chopstick-shifter-button-repair-in-pictures-174074.html - went to park at work and couldn't get it out of gear one day... didn't know what to do, key was stuck in the ignition.

Zx600 thanks for the polyfil recommendation. I probably would love working on this thing. Simplicity at its finest. Total opposite of my merc. It's like almost working on my Japanese bike. Germans always know how to complicate things

Did it help the sound?

There is no factory sub - only when you ask for the 6 speaker system with the sub which is an upgrade. I also can not add one because that would mean having to change the system and since it has the integration with the U-connect I won't do it so I am stuck with it, however upgrading the speakers will do wonders since the system is good quality but the speakers are made of paper.
So what do you guys have for the factory sub?

Ohh I see. I thought that your Willy's would automatically have the upgraded Stereo. I forgot about the whole U-Connect thing. For you to upgrade your stereo you would have to put like 7-1200 into a new head unit, where as I am getting one for like $150ish.

So basically what is the process with the polyfil? Take the speakers out and jam a bunch of stuff from inside a pillow in there, and then reinstall them?

I love this thing

Interesting

http://blog.caranddriver.com/holy-toledo-jeep-wrangler-based-pickup-is-happening/

Less than 24 hours after reports began to circulate that the long-rumored Jeep Wrangler–based pickup was seriously being considered for production, Automotive News has seemingly confirmed that the project is a go. The news, which comes tied to the announcement that Wrangler production will remain in Toledo, Ohio, was confirmed to AN by independent sources. According to the outlet, the vehicle is still under development and is slated to debut in either the 2017 or 2018 model year after the next-generation Wrangler. Car and Driver’s inquiries to various Jeep representatives for an official confirmation were met with a “no comment” response.
Although FCA isn’t expected to make any additional official announcements or comments until the current round of talks with the UAW conclude, Sergio Marchionne divulged a small part of the plan to AN: “We found a solution that accommodates a variety of other interests to us because of the way in which we can move some product around,” the CEO said. “It doesn’t take a rocket scientist [to know] that the only way I can move around the Wrangler is to move it into the other Toledo plant.”
Currently, the Toledo plant is made up of two facilities, one of which produces the body-on-frame Wranglerand one that assembles the unibody Jeep Cherokee. By shifting Cherokee production to another facility (such as the Belvidere, Illinois, plant that makes the Dart), the second Toledo line could then be retooled to assemble body-on-frame vehicles and bring the next-gen Wrangler online without stopping assembly. If a single Wrangler line was forced to retool, that could cause the off-road ute’s scorching-hot sales to cool off.

In addition, the extra capacity could then be used to produce the new Wrangler-based pickup, or even possibly the Ram 1500 pickup, at least on a temporary basis, as Marchionne hinted at in theAN report: “We still have Warren that’s not fixed from a manufacturing standpoint.” Marchionne said his two constraints are “that I can’t take down a day of Wranglers, and I can’t take down a day of trucks. So I need to move them around.”

I've seen conversion kits for the jk unlimited already. Can't wait to see the oem one

I didn't even notice this post! :/ Where was that?? Is that a river or a mud pit?? Just right through like it was nothin?
It's in mississauga. It was a river in that pic but there was another portion that had real thick mud. I got stuck in 4hi so I went to 4lo and got out of there. I got scared I'd be stuck for a while having no recovery. I had a blast but was always worried about getting stuck

Yeah, I am pretty scared of getting stuck too. I guess we need to winch up and start hanging out

Wimps ;)

Yea it isn't a good idea to go out wheeling on your own, even with a which

I wouldn't even know who to call. I'd pm you guys lol

hahahahaha!! Yeah, I might be thinking the same thing to be honest.

I would probably come right out to find you and get stuck in a hole 10 feet away from you. It would be all up to ZX600's Willy's to get us out of there. :)

I have had and still have a few different Jeeps over the years. Straight up there is no where you should be legally within the city limits. If you want to get into a good organization then I would highyl suggest joining the OF4WD. They run events and provide trail maps for most of the accessible trails which are free to use in Ontario on Crown Land.
